Thank you FOX. Stuart, with his intellect coupled with his charm really exposes the fraud that is being perpetrated against America by this socialist administration. Cap and Trade is just example. To say that each American will 'save" $500 a year is a joke. If it costs me $20,000 to retrofit my old home or build "green" then at $500 a year it will take me 40 years to recoup the cost, which doesn't include the interest if I have to take out a loan. Lies, Lies, Lies....

It WAS cooling in the early 70s, CA girl. Scientists were talking about why that was happening, which is far different from making any predictions. Even back then, most climate scientists thought that the cooling was temporary and that the longer term trend was for warming. They were right on both counts.

Old Man, I just turned 60, so I do remember it. But most people are actually MISremembering it. I was too, until I went back and looked. The famous Time article (http://tinyurl.com/2toxfa) is an example. Have a look--there's no prediction of an ice age, regardless of the headline. It's all about cooling that had already been seen.

Greg, predicting a hurricane's path has nothing in common with predicting climate. Think of dice: I can't predict what your next roll will be, but I can predict quite accurately what your average will be over the next ten thousand rolls. That's the difference between predicting weather and predicting climate. Climate is weather averaged over a long period.

It's certainly true that we can't yet predict exactly what the climate will be like in a given year. Nobody disputes that. But we CAN say that GHG concentrations do affect climate. The more GHGs there are, the warmer it will be. Natural variation will cause some periods to be cooler (like now), but they're still warmer than they WOULD have been without the increased GHGs.

The earth has cycles, most we don't understand, yet some want to believe that we can predict the environment with ease. We can't project the path of a hurricane one week into the future.

As I recall we were being info'd that we were going to enter another Ice age, some stated that it was temporary true but a great deal stated we were doomed as were the dinosaurs. Sound a great deal like what's going on today. You have some saying the ice pack is melting and say it's growing, Both are correct, just depends where the measurements are taken. I grant you these folks are a bunch smarter than I but not even they can tell you it's a fact.

It is very clear to anyone who has even one eye open that this is yet another example of government oppression (commonly known as socialism) rather than democracy (rule for and by the people). Unfortunately for those in government who would attempt such a ruse, we the people are far too intelligent to fall for it.
That's why folks such as Franken in the US and Ahmadinejad in Iran have to stoop to fraud in order to get elected. (That's exactly what we have when more votes are cast than there are citizens of a locale.)
We really should be spending more time correcting our government instead. For example, if we looked at government wages, retirement plans (including those that are tax shelters being provided to people who earn their living on TAXES), paid time off, health benefits, and the numerous perks taken by some of those in government on the backs of taxpayers, it would be clear to anyone with both eyes closed that our government is definitely due an overhaul if it is to honestly represent the best interest of our citizens.
