It's being done to enable the government dictate what kind of car we can drive and to devalue the dollar in order to create financial panic among the population. By causing a loss of faith in the monetary system, people are more willing to depend on the government to provide for them.

So can anyone figure this out? Uncle Sam spends 40 Billion of your money to bail out the car companies. Now they give $4.500.00 of tax money to anyone who trades a junk car in for a new one. Still, they fail to limit this deal to american cars thus useing your dough to buy a KIA and help out the Korean economy. Will the ignorance ever end? This bill was so ridiculous. 1200 pages that no one read but still voted for. I have a petition online demanding that congress limit the size of bills and the content and read them before they vote. Please help me get the message to Congress that we are on to them and we aren't going to allow it.

I'm told by my sources that one of those bulbs blew up in a school in Savannah and Hazmat had to come out and they had to close the school till it was cleaned up.
Now what kind of joke is this? I'm hoarding the old fashioned bulbs when I fine them. The curlies are a disaster and if one breaks I'm not calling Hazmat. To heck with that.

Our home is exactly that!!! OUR HOME!!!! Our home is no place for the government. It is a spacious old homestead built in the 40's. We have made several upgrades over the years and are very happy to have them completed. If we decide to sell we will have to spend another 20 to 30K to meet these new so called standards. We have to stop this madness. Call your reps and let them know. We cannot stand for this.

The energy-efficient, curly light bulb which is supposed to last five years, blew out yesterday after only a year in use, due to a power spike. That's a common occurrence in the south. Now, I can't dispose of the thing because of its environmental impact.

Be happy it just burned out and did not break or explode. Then You'd have to get tout of your home and have the hazmat crew to come clean it up. Imagine that expense! Global warming is an industry like witch finding was in past times. The witch finder ( a real government job) was not asked to determine if witches existed. The job was to find them and deliver them to the legal system. The believers talk about "rising sea levels" as if it were happening but never provide any numbers, just fear mongering. Most of those in Congress are wealthy----and Pelosi is very, very rich. Sooo she doesn't have a clue as to what a homeowner has to spend to bring up say a 35 year old house to her standards.

Sec 202 is about existing buildings, not new construction, but there's nothing in there that requires anything. It's all about facilitating retrofits by those who want to do so by providing funding for state and local training programs and so on. There's not a word in there about anything that's required, much less about inspections of homes being sold. Read it yourself, you'll see. This is a made-up story.

It's always interesting to me that NASA and other data is fine when it's used to claim that the temperature is "cooling", but otherwise it's corrupted or inaccurate.

Kenny, there is no cooling trend over the last 10 years. Get the NASA or HadCRUT3 data; plot 1999-2008 in Excel; plot a trend line. It will point up, not down. This isn't liberal or conservative, it's just basic science.
