Obama Plans to Visit Hiroshima
President Obama could not find time to join in the celebration of teh 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Wall in Berlin.
But as he heads to Japan, Obama he promised a reporter that he will visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki sometime in his presidency.
“The memories of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are etched in the minds of the world and I would be honored to have the opportunity to visit those cities at some point during my presidency,” our president said.

This is an excellent article. I hate what had to happen to end that war. But the alternative was worse. Japan did bring this on themselve. They did attack us first leaving us no choice but to enter the war. I have heard some controversy over Roosevelt knowing they were planning this and allowed it to happen to bring us in. My history is a bit rusty but I think I am right on this. But all of this aside this does not mean Obama should be thinking of another apology tour as we suspect. I think he need to reread or READ the history of WWll. I am not too sure he is up on it. I don't think he actually read much American history. If he did he sure came up with some very odd conclusions.

Don't worry, he will work an apology into his speech. What he convieniently forgets is that the Japanese brought the US into WW II by attacking Pearl Harbor. The US had a choice: either invade the Japanese mainland which would have cost millions of lives or try to bring the war to a conclusion by using the bomb.

President Obama hasn't even gone to the cities that were destroyed by Atomic bombs during WWll, yet you're already saying he will apologize. Chances are he would remark that the waging of unconditional warfare can come with horrible consequences. As a liberal I'm convinced the U.S. acted primarily to stop the war before an invasion of Japan that would have caused 100 times the casualties on both sides the two bombs actually did.
