How low will the new American president go for the world's royalty?
This photo will get Democrat President Obama a lot of approving nods in Japan this weekend, especially among the older generation of Japanese who still pay attention to the royal family living in its downtown castle. Very low bows like this are a sign of great respect and deference to a superior.
To some in the United States, however, an upright handshake might have looked better. Remember Michelle Obama casually patting Britain's Queen Elizabeth on the back during their Buckingham Palace visit? America's royalty tends to make movies and get bad reviews and lots of money as a sign of respect.
Obama could receive some frowns back home as he did for his not-quite-this-low-or-maybe-about-the-same-bow to the Saudi king not so long ago.

It doesn't matter WHO BOWED TO WHOM...if an American PRESIDENT bows to ANY foreign leader, it is WRONG.
Now, the DIFFERENCE IS...OBAMA BOWED SO DEEP...while holding onto the Emperor's hand, AS IF, he was kissing his hand...and Obama's FACE was COMPLETELY FACING THE GROUND...I expected any moment for him to fall on ONE KNEE. It was precieved and regarded as EMBARRASINGLY STUPID!!

So every President since Washington is wrong and Obama is right. America was founded on the principal that all men are created equal. They show respect but they don't bow. The problem is where do you draw the line? The emperor gets a bow but the Queen of England gets a pat on the back. Obama's lack of knowledge in all things, which he has demonstrated in the last ten months, could fill a library.

apparently the Japanese view doing this as a form of weakness; disremember the actual article/periodical name though. personally, i think that the man is campaigning for President of the European Union position, and will require serious pressure by the Democrats to run for a second term.

If that is so, it may be Obama was trying to put a uniquely 'western' spin to it, but I personally don't see the harm in bowing to their royal family. I'm no fan of Obama's, but I hate to see folks who generally share my values and worldview to stoop to blasting him for the littlest of things, that's a sewer I'd prefer to let the Dems and their media abettors swim in alone. Just quit doing this Obama, and chalk it up as a lesson learned!
Personally, I had a much bigger problem when he bowed down to the Saudi king some months ago. Now THAT was a disgrace...
