Another Tea Party Planned for Saturday

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) is planning a second anti-health care reform Tea Party at the Capitol -- this one scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday -- approximately the time when the House is due to vote on Democrats' public option bill, POLITICO's Jake Sherman reports.

King and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) organized a rally Thursday that drew thousands to the west front of the Capitol, drawing chants of “Kill the Bill.” There were a handful of arrests.

“We can kill this bill and stop the government takeover of health care,” King said in a news release. “We need the help of every American willing to stand up for freedom and liberty. I urge all Americans who oppose this bill to come to Washington tomorrow morning and join us to stop this bill.”

All of you Obama fans and loony libs commenting how Boehner misquoted the constitution. How about the oath Obama took on inaugeration day. It amazes what the American people really see in this guy. Your hate for bush is so strong that you were willing to vote for anyone. Look what you got. Not hope and change. but hate and dispise. the oathe to Obama is nothing but words. He was put here by Soros and the hate America people to do just what he is doing. to create discontent and polarize this country. Most dems I have met are so focused on what they can take from the government without giving back. they lack discipline and accountability. Same with Obama and his agenda. who in the hell does he think paid for his education at Harvard. It was for damn sure not some lib. it was paid for the hardworking American patriot and the RICH man. Because the RICH man provided the jobs for the hard working tax payer. How wreckless and hypocritical of him.

I loved the tea party on Capitol hill when John Boehner waved around his copy of the Constitution and then proceeded to quote the Dec. of Ind. Guess he never read the Constitution and apparently neither did the Repubs. standing behind him that joined in the incorrect quote and were so proud of him.

I'm not much of a loser because I'm 72 years old and will not see all the damage this will do for a once great country. This is only to break this country as Russia was supposedly broke. Obama's wife will only be proud of this country when the Communists are running, out of the caos of her husband's presidency, when the taxes take all the jobs, as a person who looked at hiring a truck driver last summer, too expensive, paper wood, taxes to hire, long term problems, pay workman's comp until the person gets his/her next job, paper work on business, etc.
The government owns each of us as much as the old plantation owners. To hire one of the governments chatels I must pay workman's comp to my state, Social security, medicare, unemployment, salary to feed and clothe the chatel, maintain records, pay quarterlys, pay taxes on anything left over to my liege the government. Now I will have to pay national health care. Actually I can only pay this if the chatel earns all this and enough to keep my doors open. He will have to earn this or there won't be a job.

There are several misconceptions prevalent in the Republican Party. One is the supposed "Trickle Down" effect when you make large sums of money available to a very few Vs making lesser amounts available to a great many. I have seen it work. I do high end construction and am sixty years old. Whenever the super rich get a bonanza, it is spent on a summer Sunday cruiser like a BMW convertible, a vacation home or the money gets invested in risky ventures with a high return since if the money is lost, they did not have it to start with. A trickle down effect allright. It is indeed a trickle that goes back into the economy at large. If on the other hand, you make smaller amounts available to a great many, consumer goods are purchased in large quantities which reduces inventories which in turn leads to higher employment and a better economy. The other fallacy is this healthcare stance. As said, I am sixty. My family is insured, but I am not. I am self employed. My premiums would be in excess of $1,400.00 a Month and I can simply not afford such an amount. This healthcare plan would allow me to be insured, although it would still cost me, but less. A final comment is that I have a hard time taking people seriously who walk around on public streets with teabags dangling from their hats and holding often misspelled signs. There has got to be a more intelligent way to present an argument.

Somebody will have to pay the $1,400 you feel you can't afford, how many doctoers will "retire", compare medicare while looking at the whole picture, a manual 400 miles away telling your doctor what procedures he will be paid in treating you, not what his best judgement tells him.

Bachmann denounced the government-run health insurance public option, calling it a "government takeover of health care" that would "squeeze out private health insurance".[74]
Not surprising .
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, she is currently the 21st largest recipient of the 435 members in the the United States House of Representatives for contributions from the insurance industry,[75] which consists of health, life, property and car insurance companies.[76] However, the health sector, which consists of professionals in all health-related fields, has not been nearly as supportive, where she ranks 230 of the 435 members in the House for the 2010 election campaign contributions.[77]

i just can not believe that this is being rammed down our throats and it is not even good reform. why can't we make a bill that is bipartisian? dems say the republicans were obstinant to being part of the process. what i saw was republicans being physically shut out of the process. this is very sad, because the working people are screwed again, we do not want it, it doesn't matter we are going to get it regardless. we will pay directly from our diminishing pay checks for a bounty of losers and illegals for what? i'm sure the dems will set up some sort of household income requirements to get free healthcare. so anyone making a pay check will still have to pay. we should all just quit working and get on the obamabandwagon.

What in the world does Bush have to do with this monstrosity of a health care reform bill? Reform? Not really. Another govenment run health care system that will run out of money? Absolutely. The government can never effectively run health care. It can't even keep the ones it has from going broke. And doctors hate dealing with them. You can overhear a lot in a doctor's office and they will even tell you flat out how they feel.
