People tend to be liberal when they have nothing and Conservative when they have made a life for themselves. Unfortunately the Democrat Party thrives on people that have no ambition other than getting all they can from the government for free. Slaves were freed by Republicans and Recaptured by Democrats, only to be enslaved again.

@Nancy N: I don't get it. How is this President Anti-American?? Because you don't like his policies. Even if most of America doesn't like his policies it doesn't mean that he's Anti-American. It just means you disagree with him. People need to stop demonizing others. And don't bring up Bush because I didn't demonize him ^_^ Also, the whole concept of America is forever changing so there is no such thing as an anti-American policy unless it actually calls for America's destruction. *and don't say that his policies do destroy America because nothing has happend yet and it's not his intention to destroy the country if it is destroyed* Now, he isn't bi-partisan, you're right about that....but most Presidents aren't so it's nothing new. If you remember, Bush was very partisan as well.

This is just a ploy to have us stand down and LET him RUIN a perfecly good Country (what the Dems have been doing for years). Obama may actually put the frosting on that cake, this time. @conservabit: I'm not trying to influence kids. You don't have to. AS A WHOLE, younger people are more liberal than conservative these days. Most young people are for a public option you know ^_^ It's the old folks that are angry about that. Also, I'm not that huge of an environmentalist or anything. I believe in preserving what we have though. I also believe in taxing companies and industries that do polute the most in order to give them an incentive to change...or an incentive to go bankrupt (it's their choice). It seems the only way to change people these days is to strong-arm them with taxes. I guess in order to stop an addiction you have to be tough on the junky.

Texas seems to be the only state with any common sense anymore. My family and I are VERY SERIOUSLY considering moving there.

@conservabit: I don't leave because this is home. I shouldn't have to leave. Why leave when I can try to change the country from within?? Of course I can never have too much influence in a place like America because Americans are conservative in general, but the younger generation is waking up. The whole issue is that people are scared to be called liberal these days, which is foolish.

If you think the liberals can show a few videos in school, scare everyone with your "climate change" and expect our children to fall under the "liberal" spell, you have drank too much kool-aide. @Conservabit: I honestly always come with an open mind...but you have to understand that I'm much further left than Obama ever will be. They would be hard pressed to change my mind about my view of the world, but I always listen. I enjoy listening to opposition. The only news channel I watch is foxnews...so that definitely says I like listening. By the way, I think Oabama and his team should frequently go on shows like Hannity and the such because the administration would at least have respect from the then.
