Now Mondale Plays the Race Card

Former Vice President Walter Mondale joined his old boss Jimmy Carter Wednesday, arguing that some of the opposition to President Obama's agenda is fueled by racial animus.

Asked at an event in Washington whether he agreed with former President Carter that racism was behind some criticism of Obama, Mondale took a long pause before answering: "Yeah."

"I don't like saying it," Mondale continued. "Having lived through those years, when civil rights was such a bitter issue, and when we argued those things for years ... I know that some of that must still be around."

"I don't want to pick a person, say, he's a racist, but I do think the way they're piling on Obama, the harshness, you kind of feel it," he said. "I think I see an edge in them that's a little bit different and a little harsher than I've seen in other times."

I have to wonder how Mr. Carter, Mr. Cosby,or Mr. Mondale know anything about RACISM except what they saw on T.V. Did any of them live or go to school with minorities. I think not. Mr. Cosby even said that his own people don't respect each other. Mr. Carter, Do you employ Minorities in positions of authority in your peanut farm or plant, Mr. Mondale your claim to being a civil rights fighter started when? You guys don't know the first thing about RACISM, of course you might have learned it from the far left media.

I see all the liberal lemmings on this thread are following the same tired old playbook and dealing the race card off the bottom of the deck. They are all like the loser in a schoolyard fight, resorting to cheap backshots as they dust themselves off and try to stanch the bleeding. Be the winner of the fight, pity them and ignore them. Name calling is all they have left. Need a tissue, liberals?

Maybe that harshness you are seeing and feeling, Fritz, is due to the harshness we are seeing and feeling this country sprint into socialism. And that should not be confused or suggested to be racism.

BOB from the old school

I am so old I can recall a generation when we (everyone in the US) all were so comfortable with our racial and ethnic heritage that we could convers and yes even joke about the minutia of our specific backgrounds. I recall Sammy davis Jr doing a sun tan lotion commercial in the late 60's and it was a tremendous hit as no one cast any racial or ethnic dispersions on him or the producers or the company. How far have we come that we now lower ourselves to the illiterate and idiotic level of politicians?

Your statement is the definition of racially insensitive. In what universe do you think someone would be comfortable degrading himself like that in public? Unfortunately if there is enough money on the table people will do anything. Truly sad for him and for you.
