I wasn't trying to offend anyone. I'm truly sorry for your troubles. I'm sure you'd rather be working instead of standing in line. So would a lot of other people. The government needs to stay out of our lives and we would work things out much more intelligently. Good Luck to you.

AMERICA, at one time was respected for being AMERICA, If DC wants to lower our standards to those of the world, why dont they take the unspent 90% of the "stealfromus" and move DC there, they'll get what they want NOW and the rest of us can get back to "COMMON SENSE" and maybe Ohhh I don't know... Now we have the possibility of a surtax on those making $350,000+ to help pay for the proposed National Health Care Bill at about the same time this adm suggesting using some of the TARP for small businesses to get loans. Now wouldn't that push some small businesses to and over the $350,000 level therefore........you get the drift!! Always watch for that back door with these jokers!

It took over a decade of deregulation and unrestrained greed to get this country into the present mess, it will take more than eight months to fix it. If there is to be a second stimulus, it had better be completely focused on creating employment and helping people keep their homes. If the fat-cats on Wall Street get another dime, then we should revolt.

Bull cr@p. It took two decades of ever-loosening home lending standards to the point that there were no standards at all, leading to a real estate bubble that burst and took down the entire financial system with it.
.
And the same socialist jerks who created that housing bubble (Frank and Weiner, et al) are at it again, demanding lower standards for condominium loans.

The Center - I agree, but the problem is the same people that would not allow for regulation of Fannie and Freddie are the same people that are there now. Pelosi and Barney Frank. The Bush administration (not that I am defending him, he did too much spending also) did try to regulate them, but was stopped by the Senate. http://www.nytimes.com/2003/09/11/business/new-agency-proposed-to-overse... . The same people that wanted pushed for risky loans are still in office. http://www.nytimes.com/1999/09/30/business/fannie-mae-eases-credit-to-ai.... And snopes confirms this to be true. http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/easescredit.asp .Barney Frank just a few weeks before Fannie and Freddie tanked, said quote "Fannie and Freddie are fundamentally sound", unquote. Okay this guy was supposed to know what was going on. Either he lied, or he has no business being there. So These people are still in office and these people are the ones pushing for stimulus. These people are the people that pushed for risky loans, causing the housing market to tank. Of course there are other factors to the economy, but this was a big factor and one of the main players.

JOB GRANTS OR STIMULUS 2.0 (that would actually work, guaranteed)
I've heard the stimulus package is supposedly creating jobs at a cost of $380,000 per job (or whatever ridiculous number it is). Here is a SIMPLE plan that would provide an immediate boost to the economy and instantaneously lower unemployment.
TARP or Stimulus 2.0 would give grants of up to $50,000 to small businesses to hire unemployed workers.
There should be very few strings attached but some would be necessary to prevent abuse.
1) must be a net job increase (can't fire someone to be replaced by job grant)
2) must hire a currently unemployed or underemployed person
3) must pay them equivalent to the grant amount
4) must commit to hire them for one year
The returns on this investment would be instantaneous and numerous.
1) This would immediately take millions off unemployment benefits
2) These newly employed workers would have money to spend to stimulate the economy
3) Decreased home mortgage foreclosures which will help the housing market
4) Decreased crime
5) newly employed would be paying taxes
The Job Grant program could be scaled by business size; i.e. Under 10 employees = 1 grant of up to $50,000. 11-25 employees = 2 grants @ $50,000 each, etc.
Spread the word, get it done!

It was not to win the war with us, but the goal to bankrupt us? We are on our way to bankruptcy now. When that happens we are going to be so vulnerable and just think what a-l q-u-e-a-d-a will be able to do to us. The fight might come over to us instead of there.

I kind of agree Joe, but I've seen some nasty things posted on here about the Palin children and Palin herself. These were vile words that software should have picked out. Czars, I wasn't being mean or dishonest. I really think Fox uses software most of the time and no actual human is moderating this site.

Mersey, I don't think Fox reads many of the posts, but I do think that the software is set up to pick out curtain words and that is why some post get posted with delay and some times not at all. I am sure when there is heavy traffic and the software picks out curtain words, they cannot read all the posts and then get them back out. So I am careful with words. Even though I never post anything nasty or distasteful, I do think curtain words get picked out, or maybe if you put curtain words down too many times it will pick it up. Just a guess!
