President Barack Obama said his $787 billion stimulus bill “has worked as intended” as he pushed back against Republican criticism that his recovery program has failed to rescue the economy.
I wasn't trying to offend anyone. I'm truly sorry for your troubles. I'm sure you'd rather be working instead of standing in line. So would a lot of other people. The government needs to stay out of our lives and we would work things out much more intelligently. Good Luck to you.

The Bush administration (not that I am defending him, he did too much spending also) did try to regulate them, but was stopped by the Senate. http://www.nytimes.com/2003/09/11/business/new-agency-proposed-to-overse... . The same people that wanted pushed for risky loans are still in office. http://www.nytimes.com/1999/09/30/business/fannie-mae-eases-credit-to-ai.... And snopes confirms this to be true. http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/easescredit.asp .Barney Frank just a few weeks before Fannie and Freddie tanked, said quote "Fannie and Freddie are fundamentally sound", unquote. Okay this guy was supposed to know what was going on. Either he lied, or he has no business being there. So These people are still in office and these people are the ones pushing for stimulus. These people are the people that pushed for risky loans, causing the housing market to tank. Of course there are other factors to the economy, but this was a big factor and one of the main players.

JOB GRANTS OR STIMULUS 2.0 (that would actually work, guaranteed)
I've heard the stimulus package is supposedly creating jobs at a cost of $380,000 per job (or whatever ridiculous number it is). Here is a SIMPLE plan that would provide an immediate boost to the economy and instantaneously lower unemployment.
TARP or Stimulus 2.0 would give grants of up to $50,000 to small businesses to hire unemployed workers.
There should be very few strings attached but some would be necessary to prevent abuse.
1) must be a net job increase (can't fire someone to be replaced by job grant)
2) must hire a currently unemployed or underemployed person
3) must pay them equivalent to the grant amount
4) must commit to hire them for one year
The returns on this investment would be instantaneous and numerous.
1) This would immediately take millions off unemployment benefits
2) These newly employed workers would have money to spend to stimulate the economy
3) Decreased home mortgage foreclosures which will help the housing market
4) Decreased crime
5) newly employed would be paying taxes
The Job Grant program could be scaled by business size; i.e. Under 10 employees = 1 grant of up to $50,000. 11-25 employees = 2 grants @ $50,000 each, etc.
Spread the word, get it done!
