President Barack Obama said his $787 billion stimulus bill “has worked as intended” as he pushed back against Republican criticism that his recovery program has failed to rescue the economy.

Do you not remember that he had to have it signed now!--So fast that nobody had time to read the bill. If the bill was designed to have recovery in two years, then why was he in such a hurry to have it signed into law? It was all a scam. $16Million to save a mouse in Calif? Only about 10% has been distributed, right? Its back loaded to election years so they can say(Dems and Repbs) "look at all the stimlous results, jobs etc etc." PA Gov Rendell (swine) just testafied to congress Thursday. they asked where'd the stimlous we gave PA go? He put it in the general fund, didn't spend it and PA is still deadlocked in a 2 billion dollar shortfall..

I'm an independent with some advice for republicans. Try not to sound so delighted that the stimulus isnt working yet. From my perspective, Repubs certainly helped create the recession. So if you R's sound happy that we're not recovering from the recession that your party helped create, it makes me wonder who's side your on.

The Center - I am also a Independent, actually was a Democrat, but changed because I did not like were the dems were going. But I have read numerous posts here for the past two days, I have not seen that anyone sounds happy that the stimulus is not working, I see that they are angry that it is not working. So I will have to disagree that the Republicans are happy about this on this site. You might get a few loonies that make smart _ SS remarks, but that is just an handful. We have those loonies are all three sides, Dems, Independents.

MEDIA BS!!! I so agree that those unhappy, and angry with the "President" should rise up and make a difference in 2010-12. But one thing I have heard or read very little about is what to do about the MEDIA. We can blow out Congress and so forth in 2010, but if we don't get the point across to the "buy-est" media then nothing will change. If it weren't for the media Odumbo would NEVER have gotten elected. They practically gave him overwhelming endorsements and free advertising by never giving the real side of the man and his friends--Wright, Ayers, etc. If they had attacked O with the same vigor that they attacked Palin I believe things would have turned out way differently. And if we don't start turning up the heat on NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSN and their spins on the net, twitter, MySpace, printed mags and newspapers nothing will change for future campaigns; they have figured out how to put the man they want into office that many people knew was BAD for the country. How many of you can honestly say that you had even heard of this man 5 years? He made a meteoric rise up thru politics faster than any politician in recent decades and it is not all due to political machine in Chicago. I understand your frustration with the media. Their bias played a tremendous role in BO getting elected. You cannot change their brain-washed minds though. The best way to deal with them is not support them with your viewership. Ultimately, it affects their bottomline, which is all they care about anyway. And if they go belly up, too bad; they won't be missed.
