These liberal baboons are going done in American history books as the biggest buffoons know in the modern era. They will be the laughing stock on every street corner, internet cafe, newspaper (don't fret, the liberal papers are dying out) and coffee shop. The talk shows will be hosting guests to ask "What ever caused these loons to think the way they did?"

What he means by "has worked as intended" is, it has stimulated the socialistic downfall of The United States of America. This administration is a cancer to our republic. I can't wait for their downfall!

Well, I know most will disagree but I have to say the stimulus doesn't seem all that bad. In my state (Maine), all of the funds received and slated to be received have been allocated for what they were designed to be used for....putting people back to work fixing the infrastructure. We have put quite a few to work on the roads and bridges that our state has needed to have fixed for a long time. So from my perspective we are on track. Maybe other states haven't done what they were supposed to with it, but none-the-less we have. In my work, I talk with a lot of small business owners everyday and there is some genuine optimism in the business community here. Things in general look better and are indeed improving. Granted it is slow, but we knew it would take some time to get going again. We are still most likely more than a year away from a full recovery...and probably even longer than that if you really think about it.

What did your state government do with the taxes collected for the express purpose of road maintenance? That is what people seem to lose in all this government "fixing" - they waste money and spend funds on social programs and not the intended purpose. Govt is the problem.

URanas, have you looked at the unemployment rate for Maine? Most of the larger cities are at or below the national average but Maine is normally below the national average. In small towns, unemployment can be as high as 15.5%. Review the data, Maine unemployment seems to have peaked in March then went down. Historically, this is the trend, unemployment is up in Feb. and Mar.. You need do some research before stating that it is working because the data does not indicate that. Oh, the unemployment rate is the highest since 1992.

There was no stimulus bill. Never was one. It was all smoke and mirrors to fool the members of congress who never read the bill before they signed it. Our representatives in congress have failed us all. Signing the biggest budget buster of all time and not even read the bill is pathetic. Throw the bums out!!!

This stimulus was designed to level the playing field by making the bulk of the American economy which is small business go out of business. Are you seeing the increasing numbers of empty store fronts. Its going to get worse because consumers are afraid to spend because of these idiots in Washington.

So why don't they? I cannot believe that there are that many people who believe that government bailouts (out our expense) will somehow "spur" the economy, but lowering the taxes on everyone won't. Now he wants to use some of the "tarp" money for government SBA loans! They don't need LOANS (which have to be paid back), they need LOWER Taxes and the goverment OUT of business!

He speaks the truth when he says the stimulus is working as intended. What he doesn't say is the stimulus isn't designed to employ Americans only to change our republic into a socialist state and consolidate his power. Almost every move and decision he and Congress have made are in direct conflict with our founding and our Constitution.

Yeah it has worked as intended. The problem is, none of these people can see the forest for the trees. The intention was ill-conceived because neither the right or the left is willing to place more conditions on trade agreements. We should have cut China off 10 years ago or at least nudged them in the direction of greater human rights protections with economic incentives. That leads me to believe that there are too many people in Congress with hands out. That they are so out of touch with what is wrong with this economy is just unbelievable.

We should have forced China to float its currency instead of the permitting it to use the undervalued fixed rate it has now. Then China would not be owning us totally right now. But we didn't because we wanted cheap imports. In the end, it is our own greedy short-term fiscal mismanagement.
