FOX Nation Victory! Obama's Drive for Climate Change Bill Delayed!

President Barack Obama's push for quick action by Congress on climate change legislation suffered a setback on Thursday when the U.S. Senate committee leading the drive delayed work on the bill until September. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman Barbara Boxer said her self-imposed deadline of early August for finishing writing a bill to combat global warming has been put off until after Congress returns from a recess that ends in early September.

The problem is: the "facts" that are being flung around the most common search sites are liberal blah blah...which, incidentally, is also being taught in schools. I read several articles putting CO2 at 3% to 9%, all stating that the largest portion of greenhouse gases are water vapor of varying types. You say .04%...whatever...in any case it's all negligible and doesn't in any way indicate global warming, let alone MAN MADE global warming.
So, yes, we should probably blame water, and the sun's trajectory and the thinning of the Earth's crust and the possibility that the Earth is in a period of reverse polarization...but the govt can't tax these things.
I watched Al Gore's "Truth" movie. I learned nothing. I saw him flying around on a jet using a laptop and using Powerpoint to make pretty pictures. There was no science.
I also read there are over 7000 scientists who disagree with global warming theory. It's time they open their mouths and contribute to the "hot air".

I recently read a report that Carbon dioxide represents slightly more than 3% of all greenhouse gases.
BTW- no one has ever explained how the Carbon dioxide gets into the atmosphere, since it generally weighs more than air itself.

It is very important that we realize that this Cap and Tax Bill was, once again, rammed through the House without anyone reading it. This could be the largest tax hike in history, causing even more unemployment and raising the cost of doing business and purchase prices of almost everything.
Here in IL, Representative Mark Kirk (R) voted for this bill. He was one of 7 Republicans who voted yes. He is now running for IL Senator in 2010. Please join me by sending him a message. Do NOT support Mark Kirk. CAP the spending. TRADE in Congress!
It's time to send Congress a strong message. They were hired BY us to represent WE THE PEOPLE. If they don't listen, take them out in 2010.

I also wrote my House Congressman the day before the vote. He, of course, voted for it. I wrote again and told him I would not vote in the next election for him, specifically becuz of his "Aye" vote. I got a nice form letter from him. I wrote him again, going point by point in opposition to everything in his form letter. He sent me the same form letter, again. I just sent another email to him thanking him for not reading what I wrote, much like the Cap & Trade Bill, and reiterated that perhaps he will have more free time after the next election.
I noticed he is now placing advertising on tv with his phone number to call and thank him for voting for HR2454 Cap & Trade. This is PROOF that they are feeling the pressure of people being thorns in their sides.

It is pretty funny though. The earth cools before it heats, and then it cools again, before it heats up again, with some cooling periods in between before it heats up again, with the sea level dropping .000000000000000000000001 of an inch, but then we have a cooling period and it rises .0000000000000000000001. Some days the sun doesn't shine though and screws everything up. But I have noticed that when the sun shines, it is a little warmer generally.

John Coleman, unfortunately, has no science background or education; his most advanced degree is a 1957 BA in journalism. He's a TV weatherman, nothing more. Why anyone would listen to him and disregard the 90% of actual earth scientists who disagree with him is something that is quite beyond my understanding.

Contacting your members of Congress is great. I have asked both of my Senators to send out a schedule of town hall meetings when they are on break. If emails and phone calls work then just think what a face to face would do. I really don't think they can answer the questions we have. Push for town hall meetings (that are not rigged) for this break in congress.

When will you realize that CO2 is a natural and necessary greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases are not evil. The are necessary to keep the earths temperature regulated. The Earth can take care of itself. Are we going to tax nature? Nature produces about 94% of the CO2 in the atmosphere. The earth has been here for 4.5 billion years, has gone through many climate cycles. It has been much warmer and much colder than it is now. Unless the dinosaurs were industious creatures, climate change cannot be contributed to anything manmade. IT'S NATURE FOLKS.

You obviosly have never taken any courses on this topic and probably only bealive what you read from anti-global warming sites.
C02 is natural you are correct, HOWEVER to much of it in the atmosphere,The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has reached a record high. Plants can only absorb so much C02 there will be a point where they hit a breaking point and can no longer absorb all the excess C02. To say that since the industrial revolution the levels of green house gases have risen faster then any other time is not due to humans is to reject rational thought.

To think that we puny humans can impact the earth in that way is the height of hubris. To bring our economy to its knees for the sake of possibly affecting the climate 100 years from now, given that we humans usually make things worse is idiotic.
