FOX Nation Victory! Obama's Drive for Climate Change Bill Delayed!

President Barack Obama's push for quick action by Congress on climate change legislation suffered a setback on Thursday when the U.S. Senate committee leading the drive delayed work on the bill until September. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman Barbara Boxer said her self-imposed deadline of early August for finishing writing a bill to combat global warming has been put off until after Congress returns from a recess that ends in early September.

Only one of 19 populations is known to be increasing, while 8 are known to be declining (http://tinyurl.com/ljbft2). And if the polar bears were to be wiped out by human-induced climated change, there ain't nothing "natural" about that...

Some are declaring this bill dead in the Senate, and I pray it is. Please don't underestimate our President's ability to twist arms. It's Chicago politics as usual in Washington right now, but he has already given away 85% of what this bill will generate in order to get it through the House. His chips are running out. f you haven't contacted your Congressmen yet, please do NOW. Power in numbers and them putting it off proves my point.

what ever happened to the hole in the ozone layer? if it's still there, maybe all the foul chemicals and some good ones too, are escaping there. thus, it would keep the earth's temperature in the safe range and heat outer space by one or two degrees, which wouldn't hurt being that it is colder than a witches tit in space.

for those of you to young (or not born) we had a global climate scare which died when predictions didn't pan out. nowadays we have better equipment, smarter people, computer models etc. guess what, they are still guessing.
the problem is apparently so bad that a failed politician has to warn us, not someone who actually studies the subject. they are saying you can pollute as long as you send money to al gore (he owns a carbon credit co.) or another.
how mind dead do you have to be to fall for this. i not saying don't be green but come on, its a pyramid scheme. the top few get the money and pollute, we get poor and bad air.

And you are wrong. The carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is not at record highs. In the 4.5 billion year history of the earth, carbon dioxide has been exponentially higher than it is now. If you are such an expert, please know what you are talking about

If you're going to use facts, use all of them. Since 1832, CO2 in the atmosphere has increased 35% Most of that increase has occured since 1960. CO2 absorbs infrared heat, therefore more C02=more heat. There's evidence all over the globe that the atmosphere is warming (besides the actual measurments), and that's just supposed to be coincidence or a totally natural occurance? Many people believed the Earth was flat and that the sun orbited the Earth long after they were proven otherwise. And so history repeats itself.

Nope, anti-libtard. Water vapor IS a more important GHG than CO2, but that doesn't mean that CO2 isn't also important. Water vaopr is a positive feedback: as climate warms due to increased GHGs, more water evaporates, and its own heat retention properties warm the atmosphere even further. The interrelationship between water vapor and temperature has been empirically observed. After Mt Pinatubo, particulate matter in the atmosphere led to cooling, which led to drying, which led to further cooling. Water vapor is an amplifier of the warming effect of increased GHG concentrations.

You make us Army Veterans look like idiots. Yep CO2 has gone up 20 parts per million in the past 20 years. CO2 levels are at about 360 PPM in the atmosphere. that's 999,360 part of other elements. That mean out of 1,000,000 particles 360 of them are CO2. Water vapor runs up to about 40,000 PPM and holds over 1000 times more heat than CO2 because of it's density. So over all it would be fair to say that water vapor contributes 400,000 more times to GOREbal warming than CO2 does. You liberals are funny, give me real solid facts

Your 'scientific' logic would imply that the temperatures would have gone up accordingly. Sorry, doesn't wash with me. Why were the 70's so cold with snow drifts in central Nebraska over 20 feet high and cattle were walking over the fences? People like you were crying about an ice age coming and the end of humanity.
Wizard's First Rule: "People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People’s heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool."

Additionally CO2 make up about .04% of the atmosphere. It's a trace element in the atmosphere. The "greenhouse gases" mainly consist of water vapor which in fact produces thousand more times the heat the CO2 produces, per molecule, because of it's density, how do we blame that on humans? Should I quit boiling water? I don't want to go on and on. You liberals need to do your research for yourselves, instead of using feelings

KJK... it's simple chemistry. The water vapor retains tens of thousands times more heat than the CO2. CO2 is a trace element. Using your example, it would be like that maximum concentration of PCBs, in a bottle of PCBs. It doesn't take more than a third grade education to understand, the water vapor in the air is thousands of times greater than the CO2 in the and hold thousands of times more heat. Nevermind, it's impossible to explainthis FACT stuff to a liberal full of feelings

the .04 percent is that of the atmosphere, which is mostly nitrogen and oxygen, and a few trace elements such as greenhouse gases. Of the trace amount of greenhouse gases, CO2 is about 3% of that trace amount. Which makes it .04% of the entire atmosphere with N and O
