Powell Criticizes Obama, Defends Sotomayor, Jabs Rush
Colin Powell, one of the nation's most prominent African-Americans, is going after people who attacked Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor because of her stand in favor of affirmative action. Powell, who's from the same Bronx neighborhood in New York as Sotomayor, said she should face "a spirited set of hearings" in the Senate. But he said the federal appeals court judge, who would be the first Hispanic justice, shouldn't be condemned for ruling against white firefighters who contended they suffered reverse discrimination.

Liberals are the only ones who are afraid to admit they are liberal. They usually call themselves moderates. Colin Powell is an American, but it is kind of a reach to call him a great American. I salute him for his service to our country, but he should stay out of politics, until he finds out what he really beleives, and what he stands for.

Powell is making an attempt at triangulation. He suppoted BHO because he wanted to be on the winning side so that he could have some sort of voice. Now that the table is beginning to turn, Powell is getting nervous and trying to salvage is credibility, whatever may be left. The problem seen here is that Powell has demonstrated that he has no core value. His position shifts with the sand.

I watched Powell on the Sunday talk shows today. He played the victim card regarding hiring. He said "it's hard to pull yourself up by the bootstraps when you don't have boots". Gen. Powell, last time I checked, we are all provided an education. If certain kids CHOOSE to not attend school and drop out, then it isn't my fault for wanting to succeed. Stop playing the victim card.
