Powell Criticizes Obama, Defends Sotomayor, Jabs Rush

Colin Powell, one of the nation's most prominent African-Americans, is going after people who attacked Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor because of her stand in favor of affirmative action. Powell, who's from the same Bronx neighborhood in New York as Sotomayor, said she should face "a spirited set of hearings" in the Senate. But he said the federal appeals court judge, who would be the first Hispanic justice, shouldn't be condemned for ruling against white firefighters who contended they suffered reverse discrimination.

Iwas in the service when he was a general, and I can say that not to many officers were thrilled with the type of leadership Powell endorsed. Most of the officers I knew that had anything to do with him did NOT talk highly of him. He was a political animal even back then.

Powell knew exactly who he was endorsing and if he didn't, then his opinions from here on out are useless!

Not too long ago Mr.Powell stated the American people wanted bigger government and we didn't mind higher taxes. Apparently Mr.Powell changes his beliefs according to who he is talking with. Does he have any real convictions?

Your correct folks do change there minds and I have little problem with that. What I do have a problem with is endorsed conservative ideas, then moderate ideas, then fascist ideas, now he's swinging back. Sounds like to me he swings to whatever direction the wind blows. Man or woman that does that can't be trusted.

If the general's admission opens the door for others who voted for BO to admit their mistake....well that's the first step in turning this around. I had to admit I voted for Carter during that economic crisis. Just say it....you'll feel better and we can get to work. Thanks general.

A little buyer's remorse there Mr. Powell? Well too late, you should have thought about that before you voted for him just because BO is black. Next time try to vote your beliefs, or is it you did. Afraid of big government? Well it is no surprise. Anyone with half a brain knew he would be a big spender, then tax later Pres. Now we have 11.5 trillion in debt, 9.5% unemployment and they still are not finished spending and growing government. This is just the beginning because no one is holding anyone accountable any more.

I is really amazing to me that people are surprized that he is liberal! If you had paid attention you would have known. Look at the people he hung out with, the church he went to, the way he voted (when he voted) should not have surprized anyone at all. This is why election are so important - you have to think with your head instead of going with what is popular at the time.
