Powell Criticizes Obama, Defends Sotomayor, Jabs Rush
Colin Powell, one of the nation's most prominent African-Americans, is going after people who attacked Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor because of her stand in favor of affirmative action. Powell, who's from the same Bronx neighborhood in New York as Sotomayor, said she should face "a spirited set of hearings" in the Senate. But he said the federal appeals court judge, who would be the first Hispanic justice, shouldn't be condemned for ruling against white firefighters who contended they suffered reverse discrimination.

Iwas in the service when he was a general, and I can say that not to many officers were thrilled with the type of leadership Powell endorsed. Most of the officers I knew that had anything to do with him did NOT talk highly of him. He was a political animal even back then.

Not too long ago Mr.Powell stated the American people wanted bigger government and we didn't mind higher taxes. Apparently Mr.Powell changes his beliefs according to who he is talking with. Does he have any real convictions?

Your correct folks do change there minds and I have little problem with that. What I do have a problem with is endorsed conservative ideas, then moderate ideas, then fascist ideas, now he's swinging back. Sounds like to me he swings to whatever direction the wind blows. I was one of those that really admired Colin Powell. In my opinion he blew it!.

Look at the people he hung out with, the church he went to, the way he voted (when he voted) should not have surprized anyone at all.
