The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled today that Democrat Al Franken won the U.S. Senate election and said he was entitled to an election certificate that would lead to him being seated in the Senate. "Affirmed," wrote the Supreme Court, unanimously rejecting Republican Norm Coleman's claims that inconsistent practices by local elections officials and wrong decisions by a lower court had denied him victory.

Are you stupid or simple? It must be one or the other.
IfIwerearichman
Wow, you must lean on the outside edge of the left wing to think this headline is anything but clever. Remember, he was an alleged comedian in his prior life.

This guy being a Senator makes me even prouder to be a Republican.

Everytime I see this guy, all I can think of is the idiot baggage handler in the movie "Trading Places" I think that discription of him is not far of the mark of who he really is, and Minn. elected him as a Senator???. You could not be more right on, I'm glad to call myself a Republican as well.

Boy....How stupid are people in Minnesota? Unbelieveable
Annti
Not all of us are stupid. Some voted for Coleman, the lesser of two evils. Unfortunately I can't speak for most of the Minnesotans. I sure don't agree with them.

I believe Jair lives there and voted for this clown .......

I'm afraid to see what comes out of Minnesota next

The democrats own it all, they also have the full responsibility to bring this country around. In a year and a half, what will our gas prices be? What will the interest rates be? What will the unemployment be? You can only blame Bush for so much, and he NEVER had a filibuster proof Senate, and such a majority in the house.
VetDad
The Paris Business Review has just reported that Bill O'Reilly's head exploded.

Kudos to your previous post. I was going to write something snide but your post gave me pause. I'm glad Mr. Franken will be seated in the U.S. Senate but I fell bad for Mr. Coleman as he always seemed to be a standup guy. I will always rage against the right but sometimes maybe a more contemplative approach is warranted.

Man, Minnesota.
RedR
Somehow the republicans will just blame ACORN or MSNBC or France.
Real Warhorse
We take responsibility and give credit and blame where it is due. Acorn plays a very big roll. You're blind and cannot or will not see it until it's too late.
Right Wing Extremist
No we won't blame them. We blame the Three Stooges (BHO, Pelosi, & Reid), you and the sycophant liberals like you who are destroying this country. Remember you break it you own it. So have one of your clowns in the Senate should be right up your socialist path.
Duckr: Long live liberalism!
Fine. So since lefties like me are breaking more and more of the nation, that means that we're owning more and more of it, too.
In that case, get out.
Please.

Franken played a corrupt politician on an episode of Third Rock From The Sun. Why does this seem like a case of life imitating art?
Real Warhorse
Because it is. You are right on the money !!!

How many of these people are there - it seems endless - Shumer, nadler, waters, Boxer, Conyers, Leahy, and now Franken. If I hear one more of these folks claim me in the group of American Citizens they are toiling for, I'll eat my hat. i wouldn't ride in an elevator with any of them. The American citizens they "work" for and who voted for them, I wouldn't care to know. I presume they mirror their values to a nicety. Probably think Oliver Stone and Michael Moore are as profound a thinkers an age and a

GOP 3 said: "The picture says it all!!"
What it says is that Fox thinks this is some kind of joke despite their headline saying otherwise. The MN people voted Franken in and he is now a Senator. Like him or not, the story shouldn't have a picture of a SNL character up there. Franken's being seated means 60 Democrats and he is going to DC to make policy. Deal with it honestly instead of putting up a dumb Stuart Smalley picture or the joke will be on FOX.
john darin
I agree it doens't help to put forth photos that attempt to give a negative message.
Franken will open his mouth and the message will be given he isn't in tune with what is happening on the political scene.
Yes, I am conservative, but I listened to Franken when he was on XM radio a couple years ago, and all he could do was say negative things about the Republicans.
He didn't offer any solutions to what he was criticizing at any time. It seems his only position was one that was opposite George Bush. If you are going to be constructive, offer solutions that have a chance of working, whether they are popular solutions or not with the public.
I believe he won because the Republicans were blamed for all that was happening and because a minority was the change people were led to believe was the change that was needed.
Let's see what type of legislation Franken proposes that will fix the country and move in the direction of prosperity for all and not just legislation that spreads the wealth.
Spreading the wealth may destroy those that use their wealth to create more wealth by providing jobs.
Palin Sux
When bush is always wrong that would make Franken always right.

HA! This is awesome. Finally my state has two great senators. Congratulations senator elect Franken. I can just imagine Billo, Mannity, Coultergeist, and the rest reaction when they heard the news. And it is hilarious that the Fixed News crowd is calling Minnesota a joke. I am sorry which state just had a Governor go AWOL leaving that in limbo incase a disaster happened? Oh yeah that was a red state in South Carolina seems to me that more of a joke than a state electing Al Franken senator.

your officials can't leave because their still shoveling snow.
anniebsings
what is it that you like about Franken?
40toLife
The problem with Democracy is it counts the number of heads not their contents.
Duckr: Long live liberalism!
True. It also fails to evaluate the proper use of punctuation (for instance, the comma) in petty right-wing blah-blah.
OBXfisher
GOP 3, is this really the depth of your decesion making when selecting an elected official? What they look like? Wouldn't you like to have some substance? No, I guess not, you prefer guys like Sanford, Ensign etc. You know, real stand up moral charecter kind of guys and hey! good looking too right? Can you name three SPECIFC things that you feel make Franken unfit for the job? I didn"t think so, you just follow along with the talking heads and disagree with anything that comes from someone with a different view point. Just because it isn"t what you believe doesn"t make it wrong. Open your mind and have a conversation with someone with an opposing view. It's healthy, and you BOTH might learn something.

We can blame ACORN for this debacle!

Never been able to figure out the lunacy of Minnesota politics. They've been the only state or among a few states to support the dem in huge rep landslides such as McGovern 72, Carter 80, Mondale 84, and Dukakis 88. Much of their population immigrated from Europe, especially the Scandinavian countries. If they love socialism so much, why did they leave?

Not as long as I have nail puller. If we vote a MAJORITY of Conservatives into office in 2010, we can get OUR Country back.

Kinda chilling to finally realize that most voters these days don't see things the same way that you do... isn't it?
And by the way, it's my country too.

The Minnesota recount has all the credibility of the Iranian one.

No surprise. These Minnesota idiots put Jesse Ventura in office.

I WILL NOT WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT IT, THE NEW SOCIALIST DEMOCRAT PARTY IS ABOUT TO COME CRASHING DOWN, IT IS A MATTER OF TIME! WHO KNOWS, WE CAN PROBABLY PUT THEM ON A PLANE TO COSTA RICA!!!
