No Joke! Stuart Smalley Headed to Senate!

The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled today that Democrat Al Franken won the U.S. Senate election and said he was entitled to an election certificate that would lead to him being seated in the Senate. "Affirmed," wrote the Supreme Court, unanimously rejecting Republican Norm Coleman's claims that inconsistent practices by local elections officials and wrong decisions by a lower court had denied him victory.

I can't help but think that we deserve this. We allowed this to happen and deserve the pain this will cause. We always say it is good to get more people to vote but does that really help. People are stupid and the more the vote the worse the results will be. I guess I will just watch us circle the drain.

If you saw the film "Idiocracy" and actually understood it, you should hope the Republican Party discontinues bashing intellectualism and technical debate. People actually are interested in what their elected officials are doing besides just winning elections.

How can Franken's election be a nail in the liberal coffin when it all but ensures a Democratic supermajority in the Senate? Maybe we should wait until Franken is seated before dismissing him as a clown. BTW, if you're a fan of.. eh.. political humor, I suggest perusing Governor Sanford's e-mail messages to his Argentine lover.

First off, I'm not a Republican. I don't live in South Carolina and don't care about Governor Sanford. That's up to the people in that state. Second, all you need to do is search for Franken's previous words of wisdom and you'll see he makes Joe Biden look like Albert Einstein.
