Programs for education in civil and community service are incomparable to the Hitler Youth, if you can't appreciate the difference, I just don't know how I can convince someone other than a reasonable person vaguely familar with the historical record and basic observational and evidence gathering ability.

Ken, I have read what you say, the responses, and then your rebuttals. Bush's plan could not have passed without the Congress (led by the Democrats) approving it. Everyone was scrambling for political gain at the time. And now, they are spending like drunken sailors with the blessing of the new president. I went to a tea party on April 15'th, and I also watched several of the other tea parties and their open forums on youtube. Frankly, people WERE upset with Bush there, along with Obama, but the main focus of the protest was our Congress. People were fed up with both Republicans and Democrats playing their narcissistic political games. The tea party I went to was filled with people of all colors, cultural backgrounds, and race. It wasn't about hating anyone or even protesting, it was the first step for a lot of people who have never been involved in politics to get a taste for peaceful assembly and an opportunity to form a network for REAL and meaningful change.
Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 01:55 AM
Dumb Redneck
jandrewj,
The massive spending started with a Democrat president and a Democrat president, continued until we had a Democrat President and a Republican congress, continued on as we had a Republican President and a Republican Congress, then REALLY took a leap after the shift you described in 2006 when we had a Republican President and a Democrat congress. The greatest amount of spending happened with DEMOCRATS in the congress. Now, that the Democrats have it all, they have put together a plan for spending that outdoes ALL of the previous administrations combined, and that DOES include what Bush spent. Yeah, it pissed me and others off when bush offered the bailout plan, and that is when the grass roots movement for the tea parties started. We were talking about it even before Obama was elected, but it would have been foolish not to see who the next president would be, or what he would do before we acted, wouldn't it?

Redneck,
You're making tons of sense. I was there on April 15, too. If Bush had been spending like this, and taking over sompanies, we'd've been after him and his congress. But the man at the top is BHO --- and his Congress.
--- --- ---
BOH and company doesn't have to explain Bush's spending, but they do have to explain their own, and the census grab, and the corporate power grabs.
--- --- ---
The voters don't like it. People are wondering WHO will be taken over next.
Monday, May 18, 2009 at 02:07 AM

The congressional shift wasn't until 2006 and after that it was a fight for Congres and the President to agree on anything. But that aside the massive spending started with a Republican Congress and a Republican President.

Bush's added national debt was a big problem (and frankly, there should have been more revolt). During Obama's campaign, he promised to reverse the debt. Instead, he has turned our national debt into a huge joke, adding trillions in less than 6 months with trillions more in debt to come.
One of the reasons people are turning against Obama, his taxation, his debt and his agenda is because he is proving to be a Marxist. His anti-capitalism agenda is motivating people who love what this country has stood for... individual feedom, which they believe is at stake.
One last note, could he be any deeper in the unions pockets?

First of all, there were outcries about Bush in September 2008. I clearly remember arguments from other conservatives saying things like "I didn't vote for this", do you know how many of us didn't want those bailouts! Second, if you look at the vote of the senate, Resolution H.J. Res. 114- authorizing the use of force in Iraq.. it was 77 yea to 23 nea, with an awful lot of democrats on there.. so remember, the dem's wanted to go in Iraq too. 3rd, the timing was right for the tea parties, Obama spent more in the first quarter of 2009 then the entire middle east conflict.. which stands at about 600 bil.-- had he not done that, there wouldn't have been this uprising for the tea parties. It's funny because when you libs bring up Bush in your arguments, you evade the fundamental question of why the spending caused an outrage. Feel free to reply to Vinnydabod@aol.com.

Well...Considering that Obama in his short time in office has pledged to spend more than Bush ever did in his eight years....wait, more than Bush and Clinton combined.....wait, more than Bush Clinton and the previous Bush combined.....wait more than Bush, Clinton, the Previous Bush, Reagan....all the way to George Washington combined, I would say yes, it is time to start telling him to stop. Yes, he has pledged to spend more than what all the previous presidents combined managed to spent. That is how big 10 trillion dollars is!!! Besides, the fact that people did not complain when Bush was spending is no reason for us not to complain now, especially since Obama himself has declared that our debt is unsustainable.

Turns out Microsoft apparently knows all about this, even has an official "Fix It" utility (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700) which returns your machine to IE7. When I did that, oila!, all was well. Hopefully your issues are this easy.

lol thats funny!

So when Bush spends more than any president before him, thats ok? Because I dont seem to remember any tea parties then. All I remember is people who didnt think we should be going to Iraq being called unamerican and all of those other mindless platitudes people on the right come up with. Why dont you take your own advice and love it or leave it.
HarleyDays
Yeah, but it took Bush 8 years to spend what it took Obama to do in 100 days....
Another first for the messiah.
Abu Bahkir
The fact remains that the Obama administration, within its first 100 days, has outspent all previous administrations COMBINED. That is reckless in any book.
jandrewj
simply a lie haha
Dumb Redneck

People are wondering WHO will be taken over next.
jandrewj

One last note, could he be any deeper in the unions pockets?

...and don't forget ACORN!

Ken,
So you agree that what Obama is doing is not alright?
Vinny Miletti

What? That doesn't even make sense. You said that Zionists launched communists revolutions all over the world in some Zionist plot to I'm not sure what, I pointed out that communists were virulently anti-zionist for the most part, at which point you quoted a dubious Churchill article from the 20s that doesn't have outside verification. Again, what is that supposed to... oops, wrong comment thread, bye
