What the he*l he has against the Catholic church is incredible. May they stand firm in their theology. We in America used to stand for the protection of all of our citizens, including the beginning of a person's life (the embryo does have a unique human identifier, it's DNA).

I intend to contact Georgetown University to remind them that it is a Catholic institution and nobody has the right to request the covering of Catholic symbols. Nobody includes the President of the United States. If the Whitehouse had wanted a neutral background, university officials should have held the event elsewhere on campus.

No, I do not think that Obama is the anti-christ. BUT as a parent who has sent a son through a Jesuit prep school and now a Jesuit University, I can't say exactly how disappointed I am in the Jesuits for giving in to this. Everyone knows that Georgetown is a religious University. My heart is saddened by this lack of doing the right thing and living the Faith.

Has anyone read the book "Left Behind" by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins? It was published in 1995 and even though its fiction, its bible based prophecy and Obama sounds chillingly similar to the "leader" in the book, Nicolae Carpathia. It sent chills down my spine recalling some of the similarities beteween the two. I'm going to read it again. I wonder if anyone else who has read it has thought similarly?

This move was so blatantly obvious. He chooses to make his speech of the foolish man building his house upon the sand, referring to our founding Fathers and their principals (judeo-christian principals) of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our Nation built on the backbone of our rock, even the Saviour of the World Jesus Christ. Only he has the power to save us. Yet BO covers the IHS symbol of Jesus Christ and uses a parable of holy scripture from the Bible to further his far left radical movement to further confine the masses and indoctrinate the brainwashed that no longer can we follow the foolishness of our Founding Fathers, the constitution, a free market enterprise of capitalism based on individual liberties, properties and intellect. If BO desn't want to be assoicated with a Christian symbol he shouldn't be speaking at a Catholic university. Asking a Catholic university to cover up a Christian symbol isn't reasonable. Georgetown should have revoked their invitation as should Notre Dame. BO is showing a huge lack of respect for Christians in general and Catholics in particular, nor is he very intelligent. He will go down in history as the worst president EVER.

Carol, I hope jerryinfrisco was being sarcastic, but if he wasn't I do so agree with you. Even though Mr. Obama probably did not make the request directly, if the request did come from the White House, it is his responsibility, that is unless the request was inherited from George Bush.

Why can't we see the birth certificate...........is the US Supreme Court waiting for his last grandmother to die so she testify in court that he was born in Kenya????????? He deserves are mistrust because he could simply show his birth certificate.....any real US American Citizen would. POX on the US Supreme Court for not simply doing their JOB?

While not a Catholic, I think they should be ashamed for being bullied by this sort of treatment. If the building, sanctuary, assembly hall, etc, complete with religious symbols does not meet his needs, Obama needs to speak elsewhere. People of faith should not be lowering their standards to meet his. The guy scares me more each day.

I heard someone, in a mild defense of President Obama, speculate that it was probably a low-level advance team for the White House that suggested covering the letters. Has Georgetown said ANYTHING about this? I am Catholic-light, and it is beyond my understanding how ANY Catholic of Christian would cooperate in hiding the name of Jesus and His Cross. Not one single personal at Georgetown or at the White House understood how deeply offensive and heritical this was. Not one? Something is very, very wrong.

I would gladly and proudly use my ID or "handle" on my comments, but that has prevented me from posting on this forum in the past. There was no vulgarity, obscenity, racism, personal attacks, nor violence in my comments, only contrary ideas. Truth and logic tend to bother, irritate, and upset extremists, right or left.

At the rate that Obama is taking over, I don't think we will have a nation left by 2012, at least not the one that our ancestors fought and died for. There were three TEA Parties in my area; the one in my town (about 300), one 10 miles down the road, and another across the line in Maryland. All of these rallies were attended by young, old, and just plain ordinary citizens who love their country. We sang two patriotic songs, had a prayer, and various speeches. I am proud to say that my two Republican state delegates were there with one speaking about our Democratic governor who has succeeded in legislating a Job Tax, not that we aren't taxed enough.
I am disappointed in the two Catholic universities essentially turning their backs on God. Although I am protestant, I have admired the Catholics for their stands. Has everyone gone crazy or is this the beginning of the end? I have ended a friendship because of my her far-left stance. My God and my country come first.

I have the same concern, can we make it to 2012 before he does destroy all the integrity of our country. I agree with all the comments above, I think a lot of people are taking notice and realize this is not right, we have good people in our country, we don't always see eye to eye, but God didn't make us to be alike or even think alike, we are all unique and have our talents, skills, and levels of intelligence that blend and make us great as a nation. We are one nation, of all colors of people and it is the radical left that keeps bringing up the race-card and creating a division. This has nothing to do with the color of Obama's skin, this has to be do with his policies and the direction he is taking our country, this is what has our attention!
