Unfortunately the gov. has to have more some significant power because some of the American people can't be trusted or aren't educated or both. I don't know about, but I am not ashamed to be a "right wing" conservative. Should we call ourselves center conservatives or "tippy toe" conservatives. You are letting the media control the perception of conservative and they are trying and in some cases succeeding in forcing us into the closet.

true conservatives actually are centrist they want everyone to succeed. i do know where you are coming from though. but cindy's statement is confusing conservative principals are not necessarily republican principals which is what most people conflate it to be. Conservatism is more an amalgam of libertarian and the more contemporary conservative in fiscal prudence. It adopts a live and let live mentality and are very tolerant of others. That tolerance has been used against the conservative by those who constantly push the envelope while the conservative shakes their head and says well i guess its really none of my business. Sorry for the long winded philosophical pontification but I am one oft to ramble.

What happened to states rights and our Constitution?
I agree we should march on Washington. I believe our government fell away from the principle of our Constitution and our founding fathers. Everyone should listen to Ron Paul and bring LIBERTY back.

I asked this question of my economy teacher as well, if the idea behind the "stimulus" is that every tax dolor you spend produces a dollar fifty then why did we stop at 2 trillion if it really works why not 8 or 9 trillion? Why wouldn't, if it really worked, it have been our economic policy for the last 233 years and why wouldn't other countries be operation under the same system with abandon? I don't want to sound rude but please use your head for more than to keep your ears apart.

Well Craig I hate to tell you now he's still above 50%,but his numbers are falling. It won't stop falling till he stop this waistfull spending and gets the work force up and running. I'll say if this keeps up by this Nov. his numbers will be below 45% that approve. Theres alot of Americans out of work and they aren't happy one bit. Bush can only be the fall guy for so long till he has to answer for what he has done to making his ideas of "change" work. I could be wrong but I don't see nothing changing anytime soon.

Amen,Gryphon! Romney took failing businesses, revamped them, rebuilt them, then made money off their prosperity he engineered into them, and made a personal fortune of $250 million doing so. The bailouts would not have continued, there would have been an across-the-board spending freeze, and whatever other issues evangelicals might have about mormon's 'alternative' views of Christ, they are shrewd, hard-nosed businessmen, and in the business world, Romney has a notorious legend of being someone you just don't screw with. How different things would be if Romney were elected!!

I'm still searching for a liberal that can talk about issues without attacking someone or some thing. Isoroku Yamamoto said, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve". He said this after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Lily, what has been going on since Obama has taken over as president is unconscionable. Obama has awakened that same sleeping giant. The resolve of the American people at that time is what defeated imperialism and fascism, not our government. So my advice to you is to pack your bags if you want to live in a socialist country. Because I can promise you, that the United States of America will not remain socialist for long, if at all.
As for your comment on the color of Obama's skin. Had I been alive at the time I would have voted against Franklin Deleno Roosevelt too. Oh by the way, he was white.

Wow Lily, talk about being a hater. You seem to want to speak for Jesus and what He stood for but I think that you have missed a few things. Jesus had love in His heart for every one yes that is true and He also healed many people but Jesus also worked as a carpenter to earn money for food, clothing and a roof over His head. He did not live off of the government. The Bible clearly states that if a man does not work then he shall not eat. Jesus wantd us to help those who were unable to help themselves and not those who were able but chose not to. Jesus also did not go around saying ugly things to people who did not agree whith Him. He was only upset with those who were incharge and knew the law but made it hard or impossible for the people to live a good life and to live in the freedom which God gave to ALL MEN while they lived their lives like rockstars, sitting in the best seats, eating the best food, living in luxury while the people who paid for their lifestyle suffered. Why don"t you go back and really study your Bible this time.

The Republican Party loves to wrap itself in a cloak of right wing Christian righteousness. They talk about God and the bible and the teachings of their supposed Master Jesus Christ. Yet under inspection it becomes clear that their wrapping of moral superiority is transparent and their very foundation a hypocritical deceit that is so obvious as to be the very thing their own book warns them against; the false prophets, the liars, the greedy and the hypocrites.
Nothing is more blatant as to their sham as to their adherence that we must pursue victory in Iraq to honor the dead soldiers and their families. True honoring of the sacrifice of our soldiers would be to immediately pull them out of a National Mortal Sin caused by the willful and knowingly deceitful lies that were spewed as obvious false witness against a country that did not attack us, had nothing to do with 911 or Al Qaeda.
That's right, False Witness, a mortal sin that according to their teachings forever condemns one to hell. In addition the Iraq invasion has now been shown by the Oil Law they salivate over to be about the coveting of Iraqis resources...again, another National Mortal Sin. Do they care that they support actions that their God made quite clear could never be redeemed by contrition, confession, or God's grace? I guess eternal damnation is not a big deal
The sinful nature of their hypocrisy continues with of course the ultimate violation of Jesus's most sacred teachings which is to love thy neighbor. Had the US responded after 911 with a deep soul searching and a willingness to move forward without violence the so called Christian Nation they love to claim we are would have advanced the teachings of their Master in ways that would have shown the power of love and provided an example that would have won more hearts and minds in the world than could be imagined. Instead they spit in Jesus's face by seeking revenge and killing innocent civilians with urban cluster bombs and the insane justification of acceptable murder in the guise of 'collateral damage'.

Lets give credit where credit is due - obama is great at bringing people together, how ever it will back fire as what is going on in people with common sense be it republicans, independents and yes even those democrats will come together on the 15th. We can do this without any funds from the government (acorn). We can do this because now is the time to show what respect we have for our country, our flag and our future. opps forgot one thing do you think anything will change? I do. Do you think that local or national media will cover correctly and objectively? NO. To Craig and the coward who will not put his or her name to their comments: I have several friends who voted for Obama despite my warnings that he was a socilaist and they now regret their choice. Not everyone who voted for the man are happy he is President. Unfortunately, we have allowed the Democratic Party to be infiltrated by Socialists - their plan brilliant- a third party would never win the big elections so they joined the Democratic Party -their is plenty of proof that Obama joined a now defunct Socialist group promising to uphold their values as he ran for the Illinois Senate. The Republican Party has become "Democrat-lite". This grass roots revolt against Washington has nothing to do with party affliation but everything to do with saving our country and getting back the meaning of Democracy. Have you guys caught on to what Obama agreed to at the G20 in terms of having a group where we have only one vote determine regulations for companies including executive and employee pay - Obama claims this is only for Hedge Funds but if you read the agreement you will see it says "all companies' deemed systemically important. Our President just signed away our financial independence! The very root to the beginnings of the Revolutionary War. Craig - were you really voting for a man who did not have America's best interest at heart? Wake up Craig- if we do not reclaim our country soon, the policies we will be forced to live under will be the color of red!
