Flashback: Pete Stark, D-Calif., Calls Bush Liar on House Floor

The House Democrats will vote today to discipline Rep. Joe Wilson for calling President Obama a liar on the House floor during his speech to the nation that was riddled with misleading statements, misrepresentations and, well... lies. But, of course, Democrats didn't bat an eye when Rep. Pete Stark called President Bush a liar on the House floor... Twice... In the same speech. Read more...

Fox I applaud what Wilson did at the joint session - someone had to speak up. However, you are not being honest w/ your readers by not mentioning that Stark did make a public apology to the House & to Bush:

Also, the Congressman did get admonished in open session by the Speaker at the end of his two minutes & if you listen closely you will hear Stark say "I'm sorry."

What is sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gander. Ann Coulter has became much hated by the left for pointing out what they have done and what they have said. She uses their own words and actions which they always claim are taken out of context. They never meant for them to be quoted after the fact. They act only for the current crisis with the lies needed.

If our dear leader wants to continue to make speeches that are disingenuous, and laced with untruths, then he should expect to be called a liar, as that is what he is doing.
This would be a much better country if every liar was called out when they lie. If you are offended at being called a liar, then tell the truth! Just as I believe that every person in our Congress that is found breaking our laws, should be punished just a severally as any citizen found to be guilty of an crime.
IMHO anyone in Congress found breaking the law should be more then just censored, they should be removed from office immediately! There can never be an excuse, for any member of Congress, breaking the law, regardless of their party affiliation. Like Charley Rangel, Chris Dodd, and Tim or Treasury Secretary.

Does anyone remember Al Gore screaming about Busi that "he lied, he lied, he deceived us"? No it was not during a speech by the president, but it was at a speech given by Gore that was broadcast over and over by the networks.

President Bush has been called liar by House Democrats many times. Not to his face at a joint season of Congress as Rep. Wilson did. What Rep. Wilson did was reprehensible and he apologized and President Obama accepted. Did anyone apologized to President Bush for calling him a liar?
Although boos and hisses at joint season don't rise to the same level, did the perpetrators apologize?
The "resolution of disapproval" of Rep. Wilson will get him elected on that issue alone. Congress, if you want a chance of not seeing Rep. Wilson in the House in 2011, don't go though with it.

There is a difference between yelling 'you lie' when the president is speaking, and when you call someone a liar in a statement. While both are wrong, when the president speaks, you show respect, regardless of if you like him or not. Wilson showed no class in interrupting him. Stark's words were in a speech, HE WAS GIVING. He did not interrupt the president. Big difference. While we talk about one side being silent. I didn't see much from the republicans about Reagan's tax cut speech (only Obama's), or the former pres Bush speech that Texas kids are being bussed to (when Obama's was banned for 'academic' reasons). Plain and simple each side will attack, but have NO MORAL FIBER to call out those in their party. Hypocrisy is the main trait of people that follow party lines, and it's a sad thing.

Well, you have to remember, If the spineless Repubs. would have challenged Rep. Starks comments, they would have been taken out of context. Isn't that the game the left always play? The leftists can say or do anything they want, mean spirited or just plain illegal and get away with it. The Repubs. have the balls of a Queen. NONE! Sad but seems to be true.
