Saul Alinski wrote the book on American radicalism - two books, in fact: a 1945 best-seller, "Reveille for Radicals" and "Rules for Radicals" in 1971. The "Reveille" title page quotes Thomas Paine... "Let them call me rebel and welcome, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of devils, were I to make a whore of my soul."

I completely agree with you that Huckleberry Finn should not be removed from libraries, no books should be removed from libraries. I was simply clarifying that the book was not recommended for students, but adults. I hope that clears things up. Oh, by the way, for someone who was lamenting free speech, and I assume you were with your advocacy for Huck, suggesting I leave this site because you don't like what I write seems a tad hypocritical. You know, I really try hard to be polite when I come here, but people like you make it really hard. Whatever happened to old-fashioned civility? I would hope we can disagree without being disagreeable or name-calling. I may not agree with your point of view, but if it is honestly held, I respect it.

Who said anything about kids, Suuuneee (Whatever). Huckleberry Finn is one of the great American novels. I'm Sixty-seven and I read it at least every five years for over sixty years. Get you wise ass mouth over to KOS or media matters, Chicky.By the by, What the hell is an Association Representative. Is that like a community organizer or some such.

If this is true we need to find out how long this has been on the list. Something must be done. Do we poll states, counties? What grades are being exposed?
This is a sickness our radical-in-chief is promoting and it must be stopped before we see another "youth movement" in this world.
This error (fraud voting) which took place in Nov 08 seems to be turning our great country upside down. It really makes a person queezy.

America is a good country- It will take more than a goofy community organizer to destroy us- hard as he tries- I lived in his community organizing neighborhood-I grew up there - it was a great and wonderful place- the houses are great the neighborhood is the best- most streets end at a beach- where you can swim all summer and ice skate all winter- people moved in who got free money and then when that was gone they couldn't pay their rents or mortgages and they needed a community organizer- now the south side of Chicago is the highest crime neighborhood in the US- so much for Obama and his work- now he is trying to destroy the whole country- it won't work just like his community organizing didn't work- we will survive Obama and be better for it! Ciao!

My Congressional delegation has received the following. Perhaps Fox Nation readers would like to do the same in their state.

We are concerned that American tax dollars are being abused by the National Education Association. A link from Fox Nation brought us to the NEA web page where educators are encouraged to "Agitate + Aggravate + Educate + Organize" by buying and reading Saul Alinsky's books, 'Reveille for Radicals' and 'Rules for Radicals.' This just begs the question why educators are being encouraged to be radicals and for what end? Even if our nation's children all were able to pass basic proficiency tests (and they are most definitely not), this is not an appropriate mission for a federal agency.

The NEA needs to be called to task for this abuse, their overall mission reexamined, and their funding scrutinized or withdrawn for this type of activity.

It took one of my Senators five minutes to call me back on this issue. It is being passed to the Education and Labor Committee with one clarification. The NEA is a political action committee funded by a percentage of educators' union dues. That does not mean it does not receive federal grants, etc.
