First Lady Dances Around Palin, Health Care, Tea Parties
First Lady Michelle Obama was a guest on Larry King Live last night to discuss her new anti-obesity, “Let’s Move” campaign.
Somewhat surprisingly, Obama was put on the spot by the CNN host with some tough-ish questions about Sarah Palin and tea parties, although the first lady has learned to give a good political answer.
She started with an extremely diplomatic answer. “I try not to set opinions with people I haven’t had any substantive interaction with,” she said, and later, responding to Palin criticizing her husband: “Democracy is about critique, and the President is not immune to criticism. I think he’s doing a phenomenal job.”
But she did have one specific positive comment about Palin. “I think it’s wonderful to have strong female voices out there, but I don’t know her,” she said. Read more here.

I don't like it when any woman is disparaged. I don't like it one bit. I am not fond of Obama but I respect and like his wife. Her appearance is irrelevant, her size is irrelevant, Palin's appearance and clothing is irrelevant yet it was brought up time and time again during the campaign. I can't even handle it happening to Lady Michelle. I thought it a fresh breath of air to see she didn't dive into the dirt with the rest of the lame stream media. It made me want to stay clean as well. I have "attacked" Obama on these blogs and I may have even said an unflattering thing about Lady Obama but I choose not to anymore. I have big issues with Barry, but I no longer have any with Lady Michelle. She was kind regarding my girl Sarah Palin and for that she has my respect.

Can anyone just talk about the interview even a little bit? I can tell you that First Lady Obama made me happy when she did not slap Palin. She handled herself with class and keep in mind, she has two daughters. I doubt she was behind the negative sexist campaigning during the election and she hasn't jumped on board with the "hand people" either. This lady has my respect. She handles herself in a very classy manner. I know my fellow conservatives may not like this, but can we just take a breather from screaming at each other?
