Poll: Limbaugh Is Most Influential Conservative

NEW YORK (AP) - By a wide margin, Americans consider Rush Limbaugh the nation's most influential conservative voice.

Those are the results of a poll conducted by "60 Minutes" and Vanity Fair magazine and issued Sunday. The radio host was picked by 26 percent of those who responded, followed by Fox News Channel's Glenn Beck at 11 percent. Actual politicians - former Vice President Dick Cheney and former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin - were the choice of 10 percent each.

Asked to choose from among seven presidents, Americans tapped John F. Kennedy as the one they'd like to see added to Mount Rushmore. Kennedy polled 29 percent, with Ronald Reagan second at 20 percent.

Rush is more interested in Rush than anything else. As long as Conservatism so closely aligns itself with such an egotist, it is going to have a serious image problem as a philosophy of itself and nobody else.

I love it you guys are fighting over who is a better representative of the Republican party, Rush LImbaugh or Glenn Beck. Hilarious! This is one of the many reasons that Obama will be overwhelming re-elected in 2012.

Bam, you're wrong, but your entitled to your opinion. The republicans are finding themselves again because of Rush, not the other way around. The individuals in congress who call themselves republicans are not the republican party. Rush is setting us on the path to re-taking it on the merits of it's values, not greed and corruption, and it will mean flushing the avarice out of the party.

And Hulk Hogan is the most influential wrestler in the US- just in front of Stone Cold Steve Austin.
My good friends, what do YOU think it means when an entertainer is the most influential conservative leader in the US?
I'll just offer this- most thinking Americans believe that Rush is a kind of stand up comic. Subversive, angry, playing on listener's fears and prejudices to gain market share. He is extremely successful in this. But to see him as a political leader reveals more about the gullibility of certain Americans than it does about our actual politics.

Then I proudly say "Ditto". I'm a college educated businessman. I have raised three children and paid about $1,000,000 in taxes over the years. I gladly follow the advice of Rush Limbaugh. You sir, are an ignorant ass.

I guess, with your closing insult, you prove my point.
You were lucky to have lived in an age where American business was protected from competition- no Indias, no Chinas, heck, even women were mostly excluded from competition.
In that atmosphere, which has now evaporated, a person gullible enough to believe in an entetainer like Limbaugh was still able to thrive. Now, such gullibility would doom you. I'm not angry at you, and I strongly believe in your right- and Limbaugh's right- to believe what ever you want to, to say whatever you want to.
I also believe that Stone Cold and Hulk have the rght to entertain and grow wealthy on their efforts, and their fans to yell and stomp, happy in thier suspense as to who will win the rigged matches. The only difference is that Limbaugh's fans, such as yourself, are angry, filled with hatred, and politically active, even if they are mostly irrelevant as anything but the ugliest face of the failed
worship of greed and ignorance that has dominated and grown in America since Reagan.
