Wasn't our country founded on the idea that everybody deserves a chance to have their voice heard? Are differing opinions not important to prevent any forum from becoming a useless echo-chamber?

I am disappointed with Bill on this subject, although I know we can't always agree with everyone of whom we respect all the time. I think it was a slap in the face to the Office of the President of the US, I felt I could hear laughter all throughout the land, and settleing on the ears of our enemies. If anyone should have received a Nobel Peace Prize, it should have been Bush, but we know the Nobel committee is leftist.

Fox needs to make some line up changes. Such as: switch O'Reilly and Beck, and switch Shepard Smith and Bill Hemmer,( I am not sure of the spelling of his last name) then watch the ratings really climb.

@KNR, Yeah, your party certainly proved that with the first and second "stimulus" bills. Would the fact that none of your people wrote the bill, none of your people read the bill, and all of your people voted for the bill, demonstrate the free and independent thinking you claim they have? Time to turn off the PC and get back to the Springer show. The commercial is over....

O'Reilly's painted himself into a corner with his "I'm a centrist" act. This award was a farce. All parties acknowledged it wasn't for anything earned but rather for what they hope will be accomplished. Look at Chicago right now if you want to see what kind of "peace" Obama's community organizing accomplishes.

Bill, I disagree as well. To cheapen the peace prize twice in a row with undeserving, underachieving Americans really does nothing for America here or on the world's stage. If it seems like a joke, people laugh at it like a joke,
is totally funny, guess what - it's a joke.

What is particularly bad about the prize is that giving it to Obama is a blatant attempt to interfere with politics in the USA. I don't know if that is sufficient cause to invade Norway. Since the prize is an anticipatory prize (it anticipates Obama will actually accomplish something) we might anticipate that Norway would be a good haven and base for Al Quada.

I propose that we invade all countries who did not fully and unconditionally support us whilst George Bush was president. If they couldn't stand by our side while we were basically a large, dangerous, dim-witted giant of a nation that was a threat to itself and every other country in the world, why should we allow them to stand by us now?

Something funny has happened on the way home from Copenhagen, where President Barack Obama lost his bid for the Chicago Olympics:
His public approval has risen.
Something else came out of Oslo in the meantime: A Nobel Prize for Peace.
We're hard-pressed for any other explanation for today's measurement of the president's job approval in the Gallup Poll's daily trackng surveys: 56 pecent.
Up 2 percentage points in a day.

This is just another jimmycarter/algore moment. Neither of them deserved any prize either. The world does not want the U.S. to be a leader they want us to be wimps like the french. There always has to be a leader. Would you rather the world power be the iranians or the north koreans? Who does the world count on to get them out of jams. Who has invested the most time and money into the African aids disaster? Who liberated Eastern Europe? They don't think of us a bullies - they are jealous. I would like to know the percentage of people from these useless countries that immigrate to the United States as opposed to the U.S. citizens that emmigrate to these arm pit countries. It's the "leadership" of the other countries that hate us, not the citizens. obama got the "prize" because he is an America hater that went on that stupid apology tour and looked like a total wuss. But that's what the world wants. They feared Presidents Reagan and Bush. Thank God for them. You'll see what's waiting for us down the line. Be afraid ......be very afraid.

What does leadership mean to you? War? Torture? And how can you talk about the US being a leader in the world, while you appear to call all of Africa "useless...arm pit countries"? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want someone who called me an arm pit to be my leader.

Right on, Gramma! You hit it on the head. There is no prestige any more with this award. Besides who cares what the rest of the world thinks. We've been throwing money into their sink hole economies and bailing out of holes financially whenever there has been a natural disaster, or people suffering from their own conflicts, but we never get any credit for the good we do. We sure don't need their opinions of us via a president who has accomplished nothing good yet.

The only way it helps America is maybe, maybe it will help wake up more people from the liberal stupor to the fact theat liberals have no answers period. Our president has done nothing to deserve the award but that doesn't matter. Leberalism is a religion (or cult) and there's many more problems than fixes from their policies.

I watch O'Reilly and usually agree with his take on things. In this instance however Mr. O'Reilly is all wet. Hearing America and Peace in the same sentence while normally a good thing, is in this case definitely NOT a good thing. Heres why: The rest of the world is not completely populated by delusional idiots who believe everything they hear when listening to campaign speeches. The rest of the world sees the award for what it is - a final shot at the Bush Administration - nothing more. Conversely, some of the world IS populated by certified idiots who now expect the USA to cut and run in the face of Muslim extremists (like the Taliban & al Qaeda for instance). Some will now believe that the USA will cower in the face of Iran's power, and shrink from action against Korea. WE ARE WEAKENED BY THIS AWARD. Once again our enemies are given cause to continue their fight for dominance. This is NOT a good thing for the USA or any other country where people want to live in freedom.

This is a slap in their face. It also shows that America is happy to take things it wants, deserved or not. Bad form all around.
