Reagan was one of the worst things to happen to the American nation in the 20th century. Fifty years from now Reagan will be remembered as another Harding or Grant (albeit with better speechwriters than either of those two had) - earnest and personally incorruptible, but a poor leader who surrounded himself with corrupt advisers and cabinet officers. People will see the Soviet collapse for what it was: the result of a combination of sixty years of the Truman Doctrine of containment and of Gorbachev's inability or unwillingness to halt the popular awakenings triggered by perestroika and glasnost.
People will look back at policies such as Star Wars and tax cuts for the rich, and advisers like Al Haig and Ollie North, and wonder why the right kept worshiping Reagan for 20+ years after he left office. Eisenhower, TDR and Lincoln were all much greater Presidents than Reagan, and would be much better models for Republicans to look towards as they try to rebuild their party

WOW! I am amazed everytime I see reports on MSNBC! What a leftist agenda, I have quit watching it and my sister got rid of her MSN account as well.
