Obama Tells Feds to Chill Out on Marijuana Enforcement
The Obama administration will not seek to arrest medical marijuana users and suppliers as long as they conform to state laws, under new policy guidelines to be sent to federal prosecutors Monday.
Two Justice Department officials described the new policy to The Associated Press, saying prosecutors will be told it is not a good use of their time to arrest people who use or provide medical marijuana in strict compliance with state laws.
The new policy is a significant departure from the Bush administration, which insisted it would continue to enforce federal anti-pot laws regardless of state codes.

The war on drugs has been going on seemingly forever with no good outcome. The crooks and the cartels are making all the money and we are throwing money down a hole trying to change that. I am all for taxing it and decriminalizing it for the greater good. We will not stop it and that has been amply proven. Our prison overcrowding will be solved and beds will be available for the real bad guys

This is one issue I will side with Barry the Appeaser on as much as I hate it. There are much much bigger things to worry about and weed isnt one of them and it's been proven to be a medicinal aid to people unlike alchohol. It wastes the police and courts time and fills up the jails and prisons with minor offenders when they should be going after the hard drugs out there. And the reason it was criminalized to begin with is based on racism against Mexicans. Furthermore pot smokers are non violent unless your a pizza.

I have never smoked marijuana. I'd probably like it and I have enough bad habits already. I have been around it, though. I think legalizing, regulating and taxing it makes more sense than wasting all the money we spend on trying to stop it. Just like with Prohibition, the criminals are making all the money, and laws didn't stop the sale of alcohol. This is the first and only thing I have agreed with the President about, and he doesn't take it far enough.

A republic feeling good and stoned --- is a republic easily led. Why wouldn't he be all for it. I mean while they have given the tobacco industry the boot here in America so overseas industries could flourish, why not get everybody hooked on pot and more overseas industries can pop up and flourish while we all light up so we can stand the dictator's boot up our you know what?

This is the most outrageously, hideous, evil person we have ever had in the office of president. I just cannot call him my president because I am against every single policy coming from his administration. I simply cannot believe any God-fearing person can in any way support this man - including every person who may have voted for him. I can certainly say that I DID NOT because I did not and still do not agree with anything BEFORE AND HENCE HIS ELECTION. yeah god did, but man adds chemicals to poppies to create opiates. Poppies are in alot of things such as on hot dog and hamburger buns, that doesnt mean its going to get you high. same thing with coke (coming from cocoa leaves), heroin, meth, ect. Weed is the only naturally grown illegal substance with no additives, unlike legal cigs and chew with big tobacco adding harsh chemicals such as cyanide to create a more addictive substance.
