@grumpyoldman
Your suggestion interests me due to the fact that I'm seeing a pattern of the Constitution being trampled on numerous occasions since Woodrow Wilson. My previous post shows the oft-neglected 17th Amendment fundamentally changed our country from a true "republic" to a "democratic republic." I used to think that was a good thing. I'm not so sure anymore. The other interesting development in 1913 was the creation of the Federal Reserve Act which established a central bank that is not held accountable to any government branch. The Fed is a private corporation that has never been audited. We-The-People don't know what the Fed is really doing. Both Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson vociferously argued against the creation of a central bank.

We must demand that that a constitutional amendment be made to restore the law requiring all senators be appointed by their state legislature and NOT elected as it is now and that "police powers" be restored to the states and all
laws now in effect be changed accordingly
===
Democratic Republic (the USA)
People elect representative to make decisions or laws. Technically, when the Seventeenth Amendment took effect in 1913, the U.S. Senate has been elected directly by the voters, rather than being appointed by the state legislatures. That makes the national government democratic in form, as well as being a republic.

Now has come the time to stand for what so many have forgotten how to understand. The liberal left has impugned and belittled conservatives for the past 4 decades; calling us names like NAZIS, labeling us as intolerant, making fun of our belief in GOD and perverting the constitution. It is they who are intolerant, it is they have little understanding, it is they that deny our Creator, it is they who see people by the color of their skin and it is they who are the FASCISTS! Now is the time for the fallacies of the corrupt Democrats and left coast, country club, rhino Republicans to stand down and return this democratic republic to the will of the peoples! This is not some damnable “reality TV show”….. “Makeover USA”! You WILL NOT turn this great nation into some impotent socialist European welfare state!! BHO has been in office for a year now and hasn’t much to show for it considering he has control of both houses of congress and a willing army of sympathetic liberal judges. He is not what he told us he was. What he has done has alienated and irritated the many who thought they were electing a leader. Instead, BHO has taken over the auto industry, the banks, neutered and belittled our CIA and homeland defense, granted rights to enemy combatants, raised taxes on everything that he can think of and is attempting to socialize the medical industry against the will of the people!

Natural born conservative

The government movement has dumbed down our children in schools across the nation,some states more than others.This has been happening since the 50's that I know of .We need to completely overhaul our government,from the bottom up.What we need is to go back to what the founding fathers intended when they wrote The declaration and the constitution,but with a little twist.The twist is an oversight board,that board would consist of three people from each state,they would have to be questioned and have to answer with logic,reason,and common sense.They would be questioned by the people of the USA,not the politicians.They would have to review all bills and spending by the government before it could move through the system.
WE HAVE A CORRUPT GOVERNMENT,WE NEED TO PROSECUTE ALL WHO HAVE ROBBED US AND OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN!!!!!!!
Now will be the only chance we have,let's not screw it up.Stand up and sound off like the real American that you know you are.Washington is not to be Feared .WE ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steve

@ patriot077 ( I tried to reply on the reply button, but I don't think it worked)
The thing about "separation of church and state" is widely misunderstood. First off, the phrase is not in the Constitution; yet, that does not mean it's valid. The First Amendment allowed states to manage religious affairs. Remember, the phrase reads: Congress shall make no law....
All the First Amendment did was prevent the federal government from establishing a national religion. This is why at the time of ratification some states had official religions, for example Massachusetts (And people were taxed to pay for that religion!).
Either way I’m pretty sure all state Constitutions allow free exercise of religion, so I agree this war on religion is silly. For me, everyone has a right to worship or not. But let us remember, the federal government has no say.

Great and always a timely concern.
Hindsight allows us to suggest,
*
"All the First Amendment did was prevent the federal government from establishing a national religion."
*
At that time, in that setting, knowing only too well European practices, forbidding the ESTABLISHMENT of National Religion was... an earth shattering affirmation of true religious freedom.
*
Mistakenly, some reason this prevents the Government, that is its servants, facilities and funds, from religious expressions. One only has to read the speeches of the day, see the symbolism left behind to clearly see such was never the intent of the First amendment. They were not hypocrites.
*
The First Amendment keeps Government officially out of religion, however by no stretch of any clear thinking does it keep religion out of Government. A one way street is established. Separation of church and state is not established. Religion can project its influences into Government but Government may never project its influences into Religion, that is pick winners and losers. All Government participants are expected to be religious and their practices are expected to be seen in Government. Government must respect all without ESTABLISHING any, that is formerly sanctioning creed, system, church or cult, or whatever.

One thing we all have to realize as a Nation is that party loyalty has to stop.... We have been MANIPULATED into believing that we have to be a Republican or a Democrat ...for a lifetime.There are people on both sides of the political spectrum that will defend bad behaviour when committed by a member of "Their" party, but then want a head on a platter when the identical act is committed by someone from the "other" party. What crimes are we willing to tolerate simply to keep our guy in power?..Heck, this isn't NASCAR or Boxing or Wrestling!..as Americans, there can't be such a thing as "OUR GUY." if he is a thief or a liar,GET HIM OUT OF THERE! He represents you!!! This has happened because the Fed has too much influence upon states. Smaller or less populous states have to sit silent while laws crafted by other states are shoved down their throats. To prevent this, the smaller states must go along or sell their vote for some strip of pork or be steam rolled by the majority. As a minority of people should not be allowed to dictate what is law in an individual state, other states should not be permitted to draft laws that affect another state. Here's a good example...What if 49 states voted that taxes could only be collected from the 50th state? Obviously, That law would be passed 49 to1 and the one state would be screwed..This is the most glaring reason why states must be self -governing, not open to threats and manipulation by majority parties that empower the Fed.

Belligerent Litigant

You must understand the beginning before the middle to end make any sense.
PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION
“We the People of the United States”,
Title 28 USC, sec 3002,
(15) “United States” means –
(A) a Federal corporation;
(B) an agency, department, commission, board, or other entity of the United States; or
(C) an instrumentality of the United States.
Are you part of the UNITED STATES?
Could you be part of the following group?
“do ordain and establish this Constitution for the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”?
The men that were smart enough to write the Constitution, were not so lazy as to use UNITED STATES in one part of a statement and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA in the same statement unless, they were talking about two different entities. The second entity would be foreign to the first.
It is the same relationship as an employee and a company. I may contribute to the company (taxes, voting, etc.), but I’m not responsible for the debt or the bad decisions the company makes. I will have to live my life based on what the company does, because affect my life in an adverse manner.
Could you be foreign to the United States?
Title 28 USC Sec. 1603. Definitions
For purposes of this chapter--
(b) An “agency or instrumentality of a FOREIGN STATE” means any entity--
(1) which is a SEPARATE LEGAL PERSON,
Only the Belligerent Litigant has rights.

Part II
Why must we send money 2 the Federal Gov. and have them turn around and send it right back 2 our states in the form of pork spending, bribes, last minute deals, etc. States R capably of collecting needed revenue directly from its citizens without federal interference. Eliminating federal bribes 2 individual states would help reduce the number of corrupt congressmen and encourage them 2 be more responsible, once they C the monetary effect each bill has on their state. States would have 2 become accountable for their actions and stop relying on other states. Sovereignty of individual states would be renewed and shifting power back 2 the states (as the Constitution dictated) allowing states the freedom 2 collect taxes in a manner that citizens in that state agree 2. This will solve many of the issues that plague our nation today.
