Condolences to his family. A sad event. That said, I would like to know who will use John Murtha International Airport now since he was mostly the only one who did. All that money spent on that Airport.

I respect John Murtha for his service to our nation. His congressional career, however, eptiomizes why this nation has just raised the debt ceiling to over 14 Trillion dollars. He porked up bills for his district, built an airport in his district with "stimulus" money, and basically robbed from the federal treasury. In other words, he took money that had to be loaned to us from China and other nations, he took money that had to be printed resulting in a devalued dollar, and he took money from other states.

New statue at the Murtha Airport coming? John served our country, and served himself to our tax dollars for many of his pet projects that were not necessary, like the airport millions. Guess he thought he was entitled to our money to waste. Overstayed his time in congress like so many like Kennedy, Byrd, more who choose to make it a career, rather than a service.

No surprise. They did the same thing with Ted Kennedy. Apparently a little attrition is good for the cause.

fed up with them all
I hope they still look into the charges that have been leveled at this "Person". If he is dirty, it should come out, so folks know he was not a pure as some thought he was.

DESTROY THE LEFT
Truth is truth. MacArthur and Patton, as well as Winston Churchill, were vilified and rejected after years of service to their country. And while Murtha served, as did McCain, let's call a dog a dog. He became a modern day "carpet bagger", pillaging from the nation's wealth to fill the bellies of members in his district with pork. And it included his own family. It's time for the voters to reject this nonsense, as the voters in NJ, VA and MA did recently. Put a conservative in his place.

I salute Murtha for his militarty service to our country. I salute ALL who serve no matter their political affiliation. As a Congressman though, Murtha was as corrupt as they come. He was the perfect "poster child" for term limits.

No tears here. I remember him during the ABSCAM sting.
They can poloiticize all they want, they won't get the response.
Vote the cndidate who espouses Values and Principles.
Most importantly make sure they are Constitutional.

Whether or not you agree with the man's politics (I don't), immediately after his passing is not the time to feed the flames of hatred. We should take the lead of his challenger in the upcoming election:
"It is the wish of the William Russell for Congress Committee, that the passing of Mr. Murtha be treated with the utmost respect and decency by all…"

Prayers go out to his family and friends.
But what he said about our military you cannot forget....
I guess you have to give him credit for verbalizing what ALL the libs think about our military heros.
