McCain Camp Fires Back At Palin

Top aides to Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign hit back at Sarah Palin Friday and Saturday, calling the former vice presidential nominee's soon-to-be-released book "revisionist and self serving" "fiction."

Campaign manager Steve Schmidt, who emerges as Palin's nemesis in the advance excerpts that have surfaced from her forthcoming account of the campaign, "Going Rogue," told POLITICO Saturday that Palin's charges about him were made up.

"It's all fiction," he said.

With a laugh, the shaved-headed political operative asked: "Why is the bald guy always the villain?"

Geez..., now the McLame camp is crying foul when the tables are turned. After loading their own imcompetence on Palin and blaming her for their defeat, they're whinning about what she has to say.
Too bad, Grouchy John - the only person that lost the election last year was you and your middle-of-the-road-big-tent appeasers. We won't make the same mistake twice. You're toast!

Despite Sara Palin's constant and lately daily media coverage, and Mike Hukabee's Weekend show and daily appearances on Fox, Mitt Romney's poll numbers are either equal or better than both Palin and Huckabee. Maybe SOME voters are looking for SUBSTANCE OVER GLITZ?

@ce, i havn't seen any mud slung at mccain, sarah's criticism has been at his so called advisors. i think she has every right to express her dissatisfaction with the way she and family were treated during the presidential campaign. i don't believe she should dwell on it. i think her book explains her thoughts about it and we can make up our own minds. as far as mccain and his so called advisors are concerned, if they had spent as much time fighting the lies, unkept promises, and blatant deception that obama was spewing as they are on her book, the presidential election might have had a different outcome.

McCain and his staffers did such a lousy job in 2008 that I wouldn’t trust a word of what they had to say now. They definitely did not have the pulse of the average American voter and it was painful for this conservative republican to watch this train wreck play out. Palin, a virtual unknown on the national political scene, brought down the house at the convention and, you didn’t have to be a campaign insider to figure out that must have made more than a few waves for Nicole Wallace, Mark Salter and company. Their current “CYA Mode” and comments now only expose them as the phonies they really are.

ALIN: She says her team overseeing the development of a natural gas pipeline set up an open, competitive bidding process that allowed any company to compete for the right to build a 1,715-mile pipeline to bring natural gas from Alaska to the Lower 48.
...
THE FACTS: Palin characterized the pipeline deal the same way before an AP investigation found her team crafted terms that favored only a few independent pipeline companies and ultimately benefited a company with ties to her administration, TransCanada Corp. Despite promises and legal guidance not to talk directly with potential bidders during the process, Palin had meetings or phone calls with nearly every major candidate, including TransCanada.

John McCain never intended to win the election and started putting the brakes on Sarah and looked like he was pushing Obama to the finish line.
Romney and Palin would have won.

The campaign was in trouble from the start. The advisors to McCain couldn't run a cookie sale. Here comes a ball of fire that's ready to go and she meets up with McCain who was lackluster, dull and frankly boring. The crowds were coming out to see her, not McCain, which they couldn't have. Simply because "grass will not grow on non-fertile ground", Stevereno! You can "spin" this any way you wish, but as Judge Judy says, "If it doesn't make sense, it isn't true". And your team's handling of Palin did NOT make any sense, just as your arguements don't. She out-shone the good Senator, was twice as popular as he, and was more in line with the public view. I'm sure your team heard the same cry as many of us - "The ticket is BACKWARD!".
