My question is Why did Professor Gates who is a Harvard Professor think that he could berate and intimidate A police officer who was responding to a 911 call? In my opinion I feel it is more of a Cast type of situation rather then a race issue. I feel that Professor Gates felt since he was a Professor at Harvard that gave him the right to be belligerent to the police.He used race as an excuse to belittle Sgt Crowley.To me Professor Gates owes all police an apology.

This may be out of subject but I can't find any other place to post it so here it goes:
The day after BHO was elected (not by me) Direct TV dropped the Fox NEWS Channel from my lineup, WHY??? they could have dropped MSNBC or CNN for all I care but not MY FOX NEWS!
Any sugestions on how to get it back? DTV wants to charge me extra for just that channel which I find absurd.

According to Direct TV's web site if your package includes CNN and MSNBC then it also includes FNC. Only the very basic package does not include those channels. What you need to do is call Direct TV and tell them your not getting what you've paid for.

Crowley should have left after Gates showed his ID. Instead he hung around and arrested Gates on his own property.
Gates' arrest was TOTALLY UNJUSTIFIED. Charges were dropped faster than a hot potato, too. More evidence of the cops' poor judgment,.

go to the opra interview...it is very interesting.
gates should have listened to the police tapes before he had this interview. they didn't show a lot but they did show the time frame and it doesn't follow this interview. in less than 3 minutes of the officer showing up there is deffiently someone yelling in the background. the back up officer said nothing about crowley going deep into the house. gates can tell from a facial reaction that he is about to be in trouble. gates is a person who has been in acadamia since puberty. he doesn't come from a poor black family. he has had every, every advantage and respect of acadamia and he is suddenly afraid of a local cop in his own home......bull. he is an elite acadamia professor with a chip on his shoulder.

Looks like the tapes tell it all. The only mention of 'black man' came from the professor's mouth as a provocation. This fool was deliberately BAITING that officer. When the officer did not take the bait he became more hostile so he could escalate the situation to serve his purpose . He was obviously using the situation to play the 'victim' . He became irate because he met up with a totally professional officer whom he could not control. This is SO transparent. The professor needs to spend some time listening to Bill Cosby and get OVER himself.

The 'learned' Prof is an opportunist! The cop answered a 911 call about a possible break-in. At first, the Prof refused to show any id. From there on, it became a 'bait-the-cop' situation playing the race card to the hilt. Unfortunately, the cop finally had enough v erbal abuse and arrested him. We hear or see enough currently of abuse of power without some "learned" Prof at Harvard manufacturing a situation into other than what it was...........show the id, act civil and the whole situation is over......end of story!

these tapes prove nothing 1 way or the other. you can hear someone yelling at 2 points but you can't tell who it is. unless you know the local police codes you don't know what the police were saying. could tell that there were at least 2 officers were there and that 1 called for a wagon (patty wagon?). more than that nothing.

Last week I saw 4 black men in an old beat up oldsmobile some with hoodie masks on driving down the street in my neighborhood which is mosly white people, as I walked around the circle I saw 2 of them standing out front of one of the houses, two more came from the house and they all jumped in the car and burned rubber out of there, later the police came around to question everyone because 3 teenage girls were murdered in the house I saw thes guys at- I told the police that I had seen these guys ,and I saw them leave the house- THE COP WAS FURIOUS AND ASKED WHY I DIDNT CALL THE POLICE !!!!! I told him that all it was were 4 black guys in a care with hoddies on ( it was kindy chilly out) then I told him that I saw two leave the house (coulda been realatives) and burn out (crazy teen driver... why THE COP THEN SCREAMED THAT I WAS UNDER ARREST FOR OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE. I asked him if he was crazy-I couldnt have called the cops in these kids THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN RACIAL PROFILING AND WE DONT DO THAT , IT'S BAD..
