We Americans deserve a real leader, one who can think logically and rationally. We deserve a grown up in the Oval office and we will get one in 2012! I guess he and Cong underestimated the intelligence of the American people. We have become fearful whenever the Fed gov offers us "free" or cheaper or a better run anything, because we know it will cost us dearly, and we lose not only monetarily, but also in our dwindling freedoms that we enjoy.

It IS the substance. Americans have the resources available for healthcare. We have great doctors, nurses and facilities. The PROBLEM isn't in the quality or even the quanity of care available to our citizens... It's the COST. If ANYONE, Republican or Democrat would have the sense to address the true problem... well, that would be a fine start.
Americans SPEND more for healthcare then any other country on the planet. Why? Why does a damn Cat-Scan cost an arm and a leg.. Yes, Yes, Yes.. I know that piece of equipment is expensive to purchase and to maintain... BUT really? $2500 for 10 minutes... I KNOW because I've had to have sooo many of them.
Our drug dealers... uh, errr.. Manufactures spend millions on research - granted. But it seems ONLY American consumers pay for that research. We are "big brother" to the world you know... a much hated sybling it seems.
Why is it, that a medication can be researched, developed and sold IN OUR OWN Country, but it's cheaper to purchase it overseas? Why? Could it be all the taxes, incentives, advertising costs, back-door deals with congress? Obama needs address these issues before stuffing more do-do down our throats!
And don't get me started on the excessive salaries of doctors. Its a job guys,... YOU're NOT GOD
Before we can "reform" our healthcare, we MUST reform the greed that fuels spiraling costs in the country.
