Outgoing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday laid the groundwork to take on a larger, national role after leaving state government, citing a "higher calling" with the aim of uniting the country along conservative lines. A day after surprising even her closest friends by announcing she would step down as Alaska governor more than a year before her term was up, the controversial hockey mom was still keeping details of her future plans under wrap.

BTW, many people have "hidden disabilities" and if you knew some of the problems Mr. Limbaugh has been subjected, perhaps you might have a different approach to those who have to take medications to ameliorate their disabilty.

During the campaign Palin and McCain always stood in front of "Country First" signs. I guess that wasn't so true now that the Tundra Princess decided to cash in, and put her state second. Well, Alaska is better off for it.

Obviously you are oblivious to her and her families treatment by the Repub party, media, etc...for the past 10 months. Or you aren't a parent or you are a liberal parent who puts their own desires before their children, or allows their state funds to run dry to provide legal counsel due to the constant and repetitive frivolous lawsuits.....It takes a strong person to think not of themselves but their children and their state to step back.

I don"t know if anyone knows how many ethic complaints were filed, but I believe 15 made it thru the review board. I person on an ADM blog. claimed they filed 9 ethic complaints, but, none made it thru the review board..

What do I think? Well for one it was an awesome Independence Day weekend at the beach! Our annoying fOX friends didn't show up - hmmm, wonder why? Palin has been on her own since the election ended. Not one Major elected GOP person either currently serving or past is REALLY standing up for Palin. The have left her up in Alaska to fight on her own. It is shameful. Sure, they will get on FOX, MSNBC, CNN, etc and answer a few questions and say how unfair everyone is being on Palin, But one, not even McCain is REALLY standing by her. There have been a few high level conservative media individuals who have really carried her water, but that is it.
I personally think that since the GOP is in a sorry state, it is Palin’s to take. Newt, Mitt, Huckabee are all good guys for the most, but are also yesterdays news and no of the are being REAL MEN and properly standing up for this woman…..so she is going to take it all from them and they will be yielding to her in the future.
