What Do You Think of Palin's Resignation?

Outgoing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday laid the groundwork to take on a larger, national role after leaving state government, citing a "higher calling" with the aim of uniting the country along conservative lines. A day after surprising even her closest friends by announcing she would step down as Alaska governor more than a year before her term was up, the controversial hockey mom was still keeping details of her future plans under wrap.

I think she finally had enough. The mainstream media treated her like an outcast. They acted like a bunch of schoolkids talking about someone they don't like - It's been disgusting to watch her and her family maligned. I don;t blame her one bit - I don't see her as a quitter at all. She is not leaving the State of Alaska without good leadership. I would like to ask all the people who think she is a quitter exactly what they have done since her campaign to support her ? My guess is nothing.

Nick, This is where you're wrong. She does not need, nor has she ever needed, "spin" to get elected. Her honesty will carry her if she stays in politics. If you think she is done, you're wrong.

what has she said? except... the game is against me... I'm not playing anymore...? It seems to me, she has given up... and it's gonna take a lot of spin to get her elected to anyoffice in the future... and if she doesn't seek that, then she will only be a tool for campaigns for so long, before she is irrelevant again...

For the fist time ever since last year's RNC speech in September. Sarah actuall sounded like she knew what she was talking about. And that was with a MSNBC reporter. Sarah totally dissed FOX for the first interview since the announcement last friday. Smart move Sarah... no I can't really say she is scared.

The politicians that flame her now will look back and see that a mistake they made. Sarah is a very cunning individual and breaks the mold of the political washington machine. If she goes independent as a potential candidate, she could speel the end of the GOP, and dramatically demish the democrats. This country has more than one crisis going on right now. One that should not be taken lightly is that more and more Americans are getting tired of the left and the right, thus waiting for a new party leader to emerge. What was it that Ron Emanuel said…something like “Can’t let a crises go to waste”. Well, looks like Sarah Palin may be taking good ole’ Ron’s advice and use this crisis to develop an independent party that will be a real threat in 2012.
This country is primed for it, the opportunity is there, and Sarah is the type that can pull it off. It’s going to be a long, bumpy ride, but this American is in it for the long haul! All you nay sayers….get ready to eat crow!!!!!!!!!

Sarah Palin made it very clear why she had to resign, she simply was not going to compromise her ability to do her job as governor while under constant attacks and investigations, and the pressures from the left wing media. I think she did the honorable thing by letting her LT Governor pick up on all her accomplishment. Now she can take the gloves off and deal with these miscreants. Had she stay, they would have attacked her for holding on to her governorship and not devoting time to do her job.

Sarah Palin is NOT a career politician. Thank God. If someone looks at it in those terms then her decision makes sense. She was not going to stay in office and use taxpayers money foolishly. No, she is going to go out and make a difference. Sarah is a person of principle and I think she made a wise choice. As she said in her speech on Friday, only dead fishes go with the flow.

All the Republicans such as Rove and Huckabee who are taking veiled swipes at Palin's decision had better back off. Gov. Palin is in a postion to do great harm to their chances in 2010 and 2012. What would a Palin presidential run as an Independent or other third party candidate do to the Republicans chances? She would immmediately get 25-30 % of the registered Republicans vote. They better treat her right or they might find themselves in a battle they never thought about. She has already indicated that she is going to work to get people elected who have solid conservative values whether they be Republican or Democrat or other. She has already shown she is capable of going against the grain when she took on the Repulican party in Alaska.

I keep seeing these endless platitudes written about Sarah Pain. About her honesty, her integrity, how’s she truly cares about America, and wants to make things better. I gotta’ say, I don’t see any evidence of those things. She sounds like every other politician-maybe a bit more folksy, but still walks the walk and talks the talk of any politician. She’ll sign up on Fox as a contributor, or even her own show, write some books and sell them on the air, and get rich off all her fans-you- who give your every devotion and soon, every dollar. I can’t understand why you all insist on putting her on this pedestal.

All this hate and vitriol is so discouraging. When did our country devolve into this? I've never seen anything like this in my lifetime (56 years). Sarah Palin is one of the strongest, toughest women in the country. I'm so sick of the conceited, pompous beltway elites. They call her "inarticulate, uneducated trailer trash" because she didn't graduate from Harvard or Yale with a law degree. Well, just look at where all the articulate, educated, high-fallutin" lawyers have gotten this country ! How's that working out for us??? Matt Damon called it a bad "Disney movie". Well, those movies usually have a hokey, happy ending. I, for one, am ready for a hokey, happy ending for my country instead of the grisly, scary one that's looming on the horizon. If Sarah Palin can effect that happy ending, either by running for office herself, or helping others get elected, then more power to her!!! What burns me is the attacks on and ridicule of her little baby. Sarah is a big girl and can take it, but what kind of a rancid, wretched soul does it take to use a 1-yr. old Downs syndrome baby as a political weapon? There is a special place in hell reserved for those bottom-dwellers!!
