Outgoing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday laid the groundwork to take on a larger, national role after leaving state government, citing a "higher calling" with the aim of uniting the country along conservative lines. A day after surprising even her closest friends by announcing she would step down as Alaska governor more than a year before her term was up, the controversial hockey mom was still keeping details of her future plans under wrap.

You are right about that. But I think she will find her detractors as nice a prey as any found in Alaska. But unlike the animals there, these human beasts will have to pay with their political careers.

How about maybe she is just not interested in running for anything and wants to spend her time working with down syndrome children and other things that would help her goals? Something a bit refreshing, an honest person that doesn't have a political agenda. The party of tolorance may have to find someone else to abuse with their tender comments.
Anyo
This is a shrewd move as it gets her out of the line of fire while allowing her freedom to champion a cause she believes in. Dems should not rejoice, she is still a force to be reckoned with.

I am hoping she runs so the Dems can win again

Let me say it now and get something started. Sarah should abandon the GOP, emerge as a third party candidate who can actually get a significant amount of votes and shake this thing up in 2012 !!!!!!!!!

The third party she should join should be named Tea.
Who me?
Time will tell.
