Palin is no quitter. She will do more good for our country without the distraction of the libs and hatemongers. They have put her family in the limelight in such a destructive and personal way that she now is having to
protect them and put them and the state of Alaska first. God Bless. She is destined for great things.

Oh really liblen? Sarah Palin has been more scrutinized and asked tougher questions and been under more presssure as Gov of Alaska, than your boy Barry has as (God this is painful to type) President of these United States! Compare the fawning, softball, kidgloves treatment ole Barry has received too the non-stop questions, hatred, vile BS Palin has had to put up with! I think she'll be able to handle the pressure quite well thank you! And, I'm quite sure she doesn't need a teleprompter by her side 24 hours a day to tell her what to say!

ALL JOKES ASIDE
I don’t hate Governor Palin, ooops I mean Sarah. It’s just that you CONservatives were saying that she is the future and you all can’t wait for her to run for president in 2012. She isn’t stupid or an idiot or anything. She just needs more than lipstick to run with the big dogs. Palin should have remained Governor for the next year and a half and continue to running Alaska successfully. She could have used that time to build on her foreign policy experiences, also. But she isn't going to get any diplomatic meetings as just a regular citizen. Before she was picked by McCain, she had an 85% approval in her state. After the national attention, I guess Alaska got a closer look at her because now they give her 45%. She is amazing among her base, but the base are hardcore CONservatives. They will vote republican regardless of Sarah. She is very polarizing and doesn’t bring any new recruits to the party. Sure, Sarah energizes her base, but she also energizes her opponents. Unfortunately, her opponents out number her base. What she needs to do is get a job at FOX as a pundit like Huckabee. That way she can work on appealing to a wider range of supporters. She would be able to deliver her conservative message on a regular basis so people can get a better understanding of what she is for. With the money she gets from FOX and her book deal she can help fund a national campaign in 2012. At least as a citizen, she is free to become super rich making money off of speeches

I think that for a 2012 run, Palin just shot herself in the foot! I'm sure her intentions were noble as to not wanting to be a lame duck Governor. the problem now, is that she is a NO TERM Governor.
I think she will probably now devote most of her time Writing that Book that she got the deal on as well as going on the SPEAKING CIRCUIT where there is Big money to be made. She is Only 42, and has plenty of time to make a run for President, but NOT IN 2012.

You nailed it. Except I think there will be some sort of tv deal in the works too. Either way, I fully expect her to cash in as much as possible. She sees dollar signs and she couldn't take advantage of the various monetary benefits of her fame without getting out of public office. I would also expect her to keep her home in Alaska as a token residence but move to the lower 48 for all intents and purposes. I'm thinking the Fox News studio in NYC.
So long as no major scandals break in the next two years, she might have a chance of getting the nomination, but I think it's a pretty slim chance.
One very good point from the otherwise unremarkable Vanity Fair-Purdum article was that she carries very little water with the "Wall Street wing, the national-security wing" of the Republican party. Some here might claim that you don't want these people anyway, but that's a pretty shortsighted view and completely ignores the realities of modern campaigns and their costs. It also ignores the fact that the numbers necessary to win a national election just aren't there if you don't have a wider appeal.

Palin'sfriend

To say it was disgusting what the media and politicians did to Sara Palin and her family is certainly an understatement. The news people who are evaluating her resignation have decided that by resigning as governor she is sending the message that she can't take the "heat", and therefore it will ruin her chances to run for president or even vice president. This is BULL!!! The problem wasn't Sara Palin not being able take the "heat", but that her children were, and never should have been. It is one thing to disagree and critize her, it is an entirely different thing to take it out on her children. How much pain should she watch her children experience because the media does not like her? It wasn't about her political views, it was personal against her family, and anyone who doesn't see that should have their children berated in public and recognize how they would fee. I am in full support of Sara Palin, and her resigning does not send me the message that she is a "quitter", quite the opposit, she is one hell of a brave woman and a great mother.

Palin chose the perfect time to make her announcement. On the eve of our nations Declaration of Independence. Liberals don't see the significance. She has declared her INDEPENDENCE. At a time when it would get the most attention. She has more savvy in her pinkie than any liberal has in their whole body. Liberals are so one sided in their thinking they have nothing but platitudes to offer the American people. We are done being enslaved by government.

That having been said, we desperately need her in the Senate!! We desperately need her conservative wisdom there so she can help tip the balance back to where we won't need to worry about being sold down the river as a nation, like what is happenning every single day at a frightening speed.

I really think that she has a plan in mind, and that plan is to move to the lower 48 and work for Fox News as a commentator for the next couple of years. That will give her the kind of exposure she wants; she will be able to talk about her views and bash liberals without having to answer questions related to her knowledge/intelligence. That is the best forum for her and will allow her to stay in the limelight (which she desperately wants to do), continue to preach to the faithful, and then move from there to a run for president.

If her reasons for leaving are family related then she's done the right thing. If she left because, as some have mentioned, a probe and repercussions, then she's bailed to save face. If she left to start her run for some political seat, we the people will have to decide how we feel about her.

Liberals fear Palin. She's attractive, intelligent, has great intuition and energy. She also loves her country more than a title, like being Governor. Sanford is the one that should have resigned, along with Rangel, Dodd, Burris and two handful of other dems. No my little sheep, you are about to be taken to the slaughter house for trying to rip this country into pieces with your socialist agenda. Look around the world, it's turning to conservatism. All of Europe has moved away from leftist thinking. The people of Iran are willing to die to free itself from government dictates. And you think Patriotic Americans are going to sit still? Got news for you, all the hype about what she did or should have done is TV talk. Just because the words are spoken doesn't make them right. You'll be eating them along with those anchors that think their jobs are safe. Like the Washington Post that was so stupid they tried to sell access to lobbyists so they could buy off members of the administration. Stupidtiy beyond comparison.
