What about all the Govs and Sen. that "QUIT" to take higher offices before their terms were finished? HMMMMMMMMMM you ever hear about that before, like this Prez in office now? She did something for her State and gets slammed, can't seem to win no matter what she does. To bad people don't use the brains given to them.
You can be a tax cheat, drug user, and stalker oh yeah and not keep your vows made before GOD, but thats okay in this world of D.C. today... What happened to people really caring and helping your brothers and sisters.

You may want to study up on "leadership" some more. It is so much more than "not being a quitter". Sure, a leader is expected to "stay the course" but a GOOD leader will sacrifice (her future political career, according to pundits) for the sake of their people. Spending 80% of their time and two million dollars of the states money defending bogus ethics charges was hurting Alaska...her people. As a taxpayer, would YOU be OK with the endless flow of state dollars going to handle bogus complaints? Or don't you care where your tax dollars go? Do you pay taxes?

If we allowed people to take shots on the children ... we may as well call ourselves uncivilized. How can we attract great leaders if we allow such practice. Look at our situation now ... the congress, white house, senate, etc ... are filled with crooks, those who are willing to be the lowest of the low ethics wise to gain power. If they are able to do that to their rivals, imagine what they can do to us citizens.

I think Sara was right in stepping down. Now she can go anywhere and say
anything without worring about the concequences it will being to Alaska. She
can be our voice to stand up to the rediculas things this administration is doing
to our country. It is our country and I think that she is the right person to be
speaking out and letting our "leaders" know how wronge they are going aobut

The first thing in your life is your family. The best way she can help the party is to earn money. It is also the best way to get to her attachers. I have listened to Sarah's speech at least half a dozen times. What I heard her say was that AK had spent $2M working on the ethics lawsuits and that was money that could have been spent for the betterment of AK and its people. Sarah has been attacked MORE than anyone I have ever seen!! And I've been watching a LONG time. People have been totally despicable! So, Sarah left office to keep AK from having to go through spending that kind of money! What an honorable thing to do!! Conservatives have been saying over and over again that they want to "change government". Then they talk about Sarah not being an "elitist" in DC or politics!! But, they want something different? Go Figure. So, here she is, something totally different. Someone who is honest, unpretentious and LOVES her Country! What more could we Conservatives ask for? Her family is VERY important to her and have suffered those attacks as well. I don't blame her one bit for quitting. But, understand this, she at first stated what they had accomplished in AK with her at the helm. She was satisfied! She mentioned the complaints and what they cost AK and her as well. She was sick of it!! She made the statement that AK could have spent the money on other programs. She loves her state!! She stated that she asked her family. She LOVES her family!!! She is actually so "clean" that some people just can't stand it. I've read two books about her and one thing that was pointed out in both: "Don't EVER under-estimate Sarah!!" She does not need to be bashed for this act. It's just hard for me to understand what some people, who call themselves Patriots and Americans, GET out of attacking her so badly! Absolutely atrocious, unpatriotic and un-American to treat ANYONE the way she has been treated. She's a human too!! So, you naysayers, "Get over your rotten selves".

I'm very torn on the subject. I diffinitly think that if she wants to run in 2012 then not running for re-election is the direction she should head. I do wonder, however, how indepedent voters will view what ever spin her preceived opposition will try and turn this into over the coming year.

This woman does not need to be from the elite east coast or the less than bright west coast (My apologizes to those that don't fit) to wake up America to the disasterous future this President and Congress is giving us. It is truly time for all true Americans to step up be counted and throw out this congress in 2010 and then The Presidency. No more politicians, just public servants with TERM limits. I haen't been as positive of a politician since Ronald Regan. I have been on Sarah's team from the day she was picked by John MaCain for VP. As for her announcement, I wish the liberal media and even some Republican commentators would stop all the hoopla of why she is stepping down. I say "YOU GO GIRL!" I don't think she really cares whether or not her future chances for president are shot, She isn't narcissistic enough (LIKE SOME) to think that being the president is more important than what is best for her country. I think the way the national media treated her and her family is a national disgrace and I will NEVER watch another news cast from any network other than FOXNEWS. I think her reason for quiting the Governer's position is in her belief the best for Alaska period - no other explaination needed! Whatever Sarah's plans are for the future, I support her!

Is he stupid? Of course, there are way more middle Americans than there are the liberal elites in this country. That's why she's so popular. And, she receives my vote again and again. We've not heard anything like this in a politician in my lifetime from a level of candor that was honest, respectful and honorable.
The liberals and media elite in Alaska and DC have fueled the fire for her being investigated nonstop with ethic complaints that have all only distracted and cost the Alaska taxpayer a lot of money and in addition, this was the deliberate destruction of Sarah Palin personally, politically, financially and mean spirited!
Sarah Palin will be back and taking all Americans who believe in the message and values she has! The elite are going to run! Run!

Sarah's move is brilliant, and once again has the democrats calling her out as dumb etc. She will now have time to make some money take care of her infant son(something we don't usually see a politician doing) and campaign nation wide fro 2010 candidates(The dems really hate this part). And decide how she will approach her candidacy in 2012. She will run, not be nominated, and be the VP choice again(ready this time). All of this will drive the democrats crazy!! And she will be successful VP and then move on to Number 1.

Having just moved from Alaska after six years, here is my take on what Palin is going to do. She is going to raise money for the Republican Party and herself over the next two years.
Then in 2012 she will run for U.S. senator, running against Mark Begich, a democrat. Mark barely won his seat against Ted Stevens who had just been convicted of bribery. This will give her international exposure and national exposure.
Then in 2016 she will run for president.
It is all in her resignation speech

People on the left say Sarah is quitting with no reason.She actually gave several reasons .Primarily that she is spending so much time and taxpayer dollars. and staff energy on reacting to the David Letterman's. She is not able to be productive as Governor. Finally someone who has the people in front of her own political gains. What a bold intelligent move.

She resigned because she could no longer be an effective governor. She kept her promise and with her BOGUS ethics complaints she did not have the time to keep her promise. It was costing the tax payers. As far as the ugliness, it was more then any other before her. She is good mother to protect her children and a stand up person. The LIbs were wrong, the family is off limits. POTUS flaunts his family should we make fun of them?
