I think that everyone is still focused on Palin running for 2012, but I think she is focused more on using her popularity to lead a new party to vet other candidates to run for 2012 on a true conservative platform. She will be behind the scenes more so spearheading a new movement, instead of taking the slings and arrows...She's more a purist than a politician....look at he motivations in getting into local politics in the first place.

I think Sarah Palin has an idea that might be slightly different from what all the speculators are trying to get the people to believe, both good and bad. The left has been characterizing her as a bizzare nut bag since day one, and now they say she is afraid of oncoming fraud charges. On the right, she has enemies too, mostly rhinos with green eyed jealousy. I think she is tired of the daily bashing from the main stream impotent press, along with the American left, attacking every member of her family. I think she will be involved with some sort of a united effort to get conservatives to come together, and others also, to save th USA from the obvious destruction via, lack of conventional security practicies, the take over of private enterprise by the government, and the exposee of the so called leadership that is ruining in a short time, what took 250 years to build. She is immediately being pointed out as a quiter......my gut tells me she is not a quiter.

Since the polital climate and rules have changed over the past decade thanks to the vicious and biased tactics of the left, I don't think this is such a bad move on her part. If she stayed in office the attacks on her would have been a burden on Alaska and her decision not to run for a second term and resign early benefits the people of Alaska who can go back to State business. And its definately out of the normal political practice where politicians with no intention of running again usually stay & enjoy the benefits of their lame duck status milking taxpayers until the end of their term and Sarah chose not to do that.

Dearest Sarah, Obviously, you never heard the syaing - "Quitters never win and winners never quit!" As a Republican, and Viet Nam Vet, I find it difficult to applaud your recent resignation like other Fox friends are doing. To me it is a sign of a much deaper issue. I cannot imagine you or anyone standing in front of our brave soldiers speaking about the virtues of a just war cause that is a "qitter" no matter what her or his reason. If you doing it just to make millions, that that is your choice. I would pray you made the decision based more on taking care of your son and family. God Bless and God Bless this great land!

I do believe that Sarah Palin is NOT a quitter. She knew that the horrible attacks against her in Alaska was being funded from the lower 48 liberals. I believe that she wants the best for Alaska and for the country. My prayer for Gov. Palin is Eph. 6.

Robbie, your Son didn't have the coach telling him his Son was whatever names, his Daughter was whatever else. As a Mother, and you wouldn't be able to understand this, the most painful thing is to have your childrend mercilessly attacked in publich and have your hands tied, have no one to give you moral support, and instead get on the bandwagon to trash you more. Where were the Women's groups? There are some things more important at this time in her life. Her kids will get older, she will get stronger and comeback. There's no way to ignore the insults, no money to pay to clear her name. The attacks would've continued and probably hurt her more since rumors do spread like fire and people sometimes never get the real story.

Dearest Sarah, One other point I would like to make using your basketball analogy. My son played basketball in high school and college. He, like you was a point guard, and what most called a "pure shooter." His on the court fame caused coaches and players to constantly put pressure on him, and he received many a battle scares. Not once did he ever give up! He nor anyone could imagine for example, him walking off the court at half time during a tough, competitive game, leaving his team to fend for themselves. Maybe the fine folks of Alaska deserve better in their Governor, Maybe you have taught them, in the future, to make better selections when it come to electing someone that has the heart and soul for the job. I think Sarah Palin should move to Mark Begich's district, and run for his seat
in the U.S. Senate, making Alaska's Senate delegation all Republican, and
gaining invaluable experience in D.C. In this way, she can help retake both
houses of congress, and serve Alaska , and America at the same time.

If anyone can shake up dems and/or the repubs, I think it would be Sara Palin. I want to tell everyone that I am behind her 100%. She will be the person to bring out the ones who have screwed the repub party and America (I can think of 8 at this time), but as brilliant as she is, I don't think she can (by name) bring out the dems. She will have to settle with just saying "the whole dem party".
Now, before anyone jumps, I want to say I don't belong to either party. When I vote, I vote for the person that I think will be right for the job, and I can tell you I'm not responsible for the trillions of dollars flushed down the john!

Palin has been forced to defend her position, it's very costly especially since the only thing proven is more of the liberal hatred for a woman who represents and inspires family values in others. Palin has a right to raise money to fend off and defend herself to "set the record straight" as she quoted. The burden of the vicious attacks on her cost Alaska 2 Million $$$ and since her rabid attackers would not stop, she has put a STOP to it herself. She chose not to run for a second term but if stayed until her term ended it would have cost her State even more money. You can say the tactic "worked" but I hope she turns it against her attackers because she is capable of energizing conservatives and raising money for causes as well as her personal needs & she can more freely work against left while defending herself. There is PLENTY OF $$$$$ behind the attacks against her and she needs a way to defend herself, so I don't begudge any money she can raise for "the fight".
