I think it's a wonderful thing to trace your roots and find your family's story. There is heartache in many of our stories - we don't have to be descended from slaves to have it. Few immigrants left good health and much wealth behind in their old countries. Whole families of children died. Families were separated and never reunited - not forcibly, but by necessity. No one race has the corner on the hardship market.
