DOJ Says ACORN Will Keep Getting Federal Money
No one doubts that Congress has the power of the pursestrings, and can choose to fund or not fund projects as it sees fit — within the Constitution, of course. But does Congress have the power to break contracts? The Department of Justice says no and that any contractual obligations between federal agencies and ACORN have to be met, regardless of Congress’ attempt to defund the controversial group:

Have we LOST our common sense !!
If our tax dollars continue to flow to Acorn, they will be used to buy the black votes so that this entire corrupt administration can serve another term. It's all about power and buying votes to keep these criminals in office. When you invite the unions to a employment summit, i.e. how to generate more jobs in the U.S. and not invite the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the hand writing is on the wall. And what the hell can we do about it other than start rioting; nobody is listening to the people; you and I as they continue to destroy this country piece by piece. I have yet to see once decision come out of the White House that is good for the people of this country; good for our economy; good for our future.
THIS IS A DISASTER BEING CAUSED BY THE PRESIDENT AND HIS CORRUPT ADMINISTRATION. Vote them out of office in 2010 and lets get control in the House and Senate and put an end to this power play.

Obama had illegal ties to them for along time. He has tried to shake off his shady past since he took office, but "be sure your sins will find you out". I think the punishment should fit the crimes. Promoting importing children for purposes of prostitution, accepting funds illegally through deception, voting via illicit means to promote and insure candidate is elected using fictitous means, etc. All separate charges. If all else fails, I'm sure we can find the offices and take care of business.

Let's see, ACORN will continue to receive Federal funding...Holder is overriding the Congress of the United States. Three Navy Seals are standing trial...yet, ACORN and the 40 some Czars are not being investigated. GM was taken over by the government...majority ownership was given to the Union. .. shareholders did not receive their fair share. Charlie Rangel, under investigation by the Ethics Committee, remains Chairman of the Finance Committee. The CIA has been under attack. The fair markets and capitalism has been under attack. Insurance companies, doctors, banks, corporations, and even the American people have been villified. We have a secret government, i.e., the Czars. What is their agenda, what is their operating budgets...why is there a need for a second Stimulus, especially when the first hasn't been distributed and hasn't worked at creating jobs. It appears that if passed, the Healthcare Reform Bill will cover federally funded abortions, major cuts in Medicare, illegals will be covered, etc. I could go on...but, bottomline, America and the freedoms that we cherish are being attacked and slowly diminished.

There is no law that requires taxpayer dollars to be turned over to a so-called non-profit community organization. Acorn is NOT a government contractor so there should be NO contract. If DOJ is insistent that there is a legal, binding, contract then the American people should have access to the information. The contract as in any other government contract should be listed on a government website, listing also the dates the contract was set out for bidding and the purpose of the contract as well as the full cost and duration. This is fraud - if the DOJ says Acorn and it’s affiliates should continue receiving tax dollars, Americans must contact their representatives and the WH to demand full accountability for every cent of tax dollars received by each entity and how EVERY cent is spent. We require full disclosure of salaries and expenses. As a taxpayer I do not OWE anything to any community group or charity - maybe a class action is order too protect our rights as taxpayers.

It depends on what the contract says, and almost every contract includes a clause that the requires "legality". What ACORN did was illegal, hence any contract with them could be broken.
