Cantor Criticizes Rush for Hitler-Obama Comparison
GOP leaders have been loathe to criticize Rush Limbaugh -- but House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) is taking issue with Limbaugh's claim that President Obama's push for health care was comparable to Hitler's stranglehold on Germany.
Cantor, the highest-ranking Jewish Republican elected official in the country, told Bloomberg News that his party needs to be more inclusive to regain power.
“The Republican Party in its roots is a party of inclusion and we ought to be promoting that and making sure that voices are heard,” Cantor, of Virginia, said in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital with Al Hunt,” airing today.

I disagree with Rush on this one. Even though Obama acts like a nazi at times he really reminds me more of a Stalinist. They would have loved each other. I think that perhaps the reason Obama did not go to Berlin for the fall of the wall commemoration is that he can't celebrate the fall of communism in any way because he apparently believes in communism as do so many of his choices of czars (even the use of the word czar is Russian if not communist).

Obviously, none of the commenters here heard what rush said. Nor did the reporter or cong. Cantor for that matter. Nancy Pelosi, as well as others were trying to paint the tea parties as Nazis. Rush simply pointed out that the Nazis were Socialists and leftest and some of the things thay did when they took power were to nationalize healthcare, banking, and much of industry.

Blamed the jews for the financial crisis and hyperinflation in Germany. The older people were afraid of Hilter, but the young were all for him. Storm troopers goose stepping through German town and cities. People shuttikng their doors and windows out of fear. We are getting there and it's happening quickly.

While Hitler was racist, he was also fascist - that is the comparison being made. They do not necessarily go hand in hand. The likeness is in the fascist movement, not the racial one. The Obama movement took hold with a sweeping mass populace uprising focusing support to a central authority by the indoctrination and promise of "change" or "third way" by the ruling class that invokes the worship of statism through nationalism (national entitlement programs) and syndicalism (i.e. awarding labor unions ownership in companies like GM). Fascism also needs 'war' to keep the masses engaged and excited for continued rule. There must exist an enemy to rally against. The 'war' being waged in 2009 US is a war on capitalism and the constitution - albeit not evident to most.
You are in or out in fascism, and fascism reigns as long as the masses are willing to accept this indoctrination in substitute for constitutional structure. The waves of fascism are seen in FDR, Johnson, and now Obama. While Hitler was a ruler in this same way, he also believed in 'ethnic cleansing' that no one is claiming is true of today's progressives. Everyone needs to understand these distinctions before faulting anyone for comparisons...

A comparison of anyone to any another 'infamous' is based upon the factors leading up to the person who obviously had become notorious. Hitler did NOT start out as obviously he ended. Perhaps Rush's comparison was to make us aware of how slippery the slope to Socialism is.

For everyone here who is commenting on Rush, do you even know what he said? Have you read the transcript? Do you understand the context? The frightening truth is that Obama's swift moves to nationalize private industries do in fact mirror the same moves Hitler made before he began his Nazi revolution.
