Esquire: Stop Being Such a Celeb, Mr. President
Obama's election one year ago may have been as much a popularity contest as a political one. But has he governed too much by image — the Megan Fox of the White House, as it were — to claim any real change on another November 4? Part three of a week-long series on America since Grant Park.
Despite its best intentions as it flocked to the polls a year ago today, America did not exactly elect Barack Obama to serve as its forty-fourth President of the United States. It didn't call upon him to lead, necessarily, nor simply to represent the country's interests at home and abroad. Obama's victory over John McCain was not that of a man whose sheer sense of principal outweighed his opponent's politics or the Establishment's status quo, nor whose trademark invocations of hope and affirmation had influenced voters to truly, sincerely believe that "Yes we can."
No, the American electorate did not cohere in support a civic firebrand. Rather, it purposely, deliberately coronated its first-ever Superstar-in-Chief. Forget Ronald Reagan, who was more than a generation removed from Bedtime For Bonzo when he snake-charmed his Silent Majority three decades ago. In 2008, pop culture finally sought — and won — the presidency.

Surely Obama Bin Lyin will go down as the worst President, so far, in the history of our country. But apart from that, the mistake has been made. He's very good at spending extremely large sums of money, excellent at driving unemployment numbers up, also terrific at turning a deaf ear to concerned Americans,and pushing a health care bill that will strangle and destroy the economy,and all of our countries freedoms.

This health care bill will put America in a hole darker than the one we are in right now. Why the President works so hard to get this country in a debt that we most likely will not be able to pay? Is he doing it on purpose?. Who are the economist advising him? People are against this health care bill, the President and Pelosi knows it. Are they not suppossed to do the will of the people? I agree that he is just a front man and is not the one running the show. He has agreed with them that the best way to bring socialism to this country is to break us. Spend and pass bills that will bankrupt thiis country and only then can they take over our freedoms.

I think Obummer would have a breakdown if he had to stop being the world celebrity. I did what most people didn't do, I looked at this voting record first and foremost. Politicans will promise the world and deliver squat once they are elected. Once I looked at the most liberal voting record ever in the Senate I knew this guy wasn't for me. I can proudly say that I did not vote for Mr Charisma.
