When 2010 rools around the American people had better wake up and vote in new blood on both sides , if there are any left out there that truly love this country and want to see it things as it should be. Power belongs to only one and he will have his say one day, but for now the people not all but most in Washington need to go ,even if they haven't been there long. If they can ask CEO's to resign , then we should be able to do the same .2010 can't get here soon enough, if there is anything much to save. Pray there is.

Serious issues are everywhere in Michigan. Yes the DEMOcrats are shutting Detroit down. And the voters are going along with it. The UAW (Fire the head of the UAW too!) and Acorn are helping the DEMOcrats with their DEMOLITION. And where is our mainstream

Thank you for the song perhaps this will help get the word out.

We can start taking our country our country at the voting boothe in 2010. In 2008 this is what the majority wanted. It's time that we wake up the weak and let them be aware of what's is happening to our country. Remember that in 2008 that there was a lot of border line votes that went to Obama. That will not happen in 2012.

I agree 125%. There are people that are registered to vote that have not voted in years because they wonder "Why? What good will it do?" But we need to get everyone out that to the polls, and show the politicians we are sick and tired of the greed and corruption. Vote all out of office that has proven to be nothing but self serving, starting with Pelosi, Franks and Reed. We need to take our country back.

we can all become victims or be can be americans and be survivors. Yes this video bothers me. But I am sure, we could do a similar video about a wall street worker. Why hasn't anyone saved? he worked 32 years, yet no saving? just questions I have - as a person who always has been taught to save and invest. now my 401's are 201's. no worries - i saved - nothing is a guarantee - the pursuant of happiness - not the right to happiness. So many times happiness can be found in our family and community. Leaning and surviving with our family and community is a better solution than running to the government when things good wrong.

Debbie from Chatt., TN

I was born & raised in Detroit, moved to Chattanooga, Tn when I was in my late 30's. The Unions are the biggest problem with the Auto industry- not the workers. They work very hard for a livable wage. But the Union bosses live a life of luxery- using the dues the workers pay them. Then they as a special interest group use that money for the high style life and gub bonuses- just like the CEO's of major corps. they also make sure they and their brain-washed workers vote for Democrats who have defended this practice all these years. Once upon a time Unions were necessary- that isn't the case anymore. We have many auto plants here in the south- non-union- that are successful and workers are happy. Get rid of the Unions, then clean house in congress and the senate in 2010 and make room for people with integrity- who want our country to go forth as our founding fathers intended. Everyone- on 4/15/09 there will be a "tea-party" protest somewhere near you. This really isn't hard- to be heard, "we the people" must make some noice! It's time the silent majority stand up and be counted. Lets get rid of Pelosi, Reid, Dodd and Frank, and the rest of the clowns that are causing this problem. Let them know we are THEIR boss- not the other way around, and lets tell them we are "as mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore"!!! Maybe now, some of the unionized workers will realize what has been happening for years. They don't mean a thing to the Union organizers- they are just a pawn in the game. Think for yourself people- quit allowing yourself to be brainwashed to vote Democrat!

The number one tactic in beating any people is to divide and conqur. We can blame it on anyone or everyone else, but we did this to ourselves. We became apathetic. We became a society who thinks " I dont care as long as I get mine." Wheres our sense of community.Wheres our sense of responsibility. Are you Red, Or are you Blue? WTF?It's time to make our leaders responsible to the people. No more, Millions of dollars from companies. They should be 100 dollar limit on campagine contributions. No, Lobby money. they will always answer to the group that controls there money. That group needs to be us again.Every person in this country should be made to vote. If you dont, you are fined 500 bucks. We need to re-teach our children the importance of Voting, Of how many died so we can have this previlage. I saw one fellow was upset about the unions. Lets not forget what happen to the people befoe there were Unions. Lets not forget How many people died for us to have a 8 hour day. The fourty hour week. Now, I am not saying they are perfect, not hardly. As Lord Byron Said " Absoulte Power Corrupts Absolutly". Everyone needs to be regulated. There must be Balance. And lets face it , theres not. There never will be, while we sit here and blame each other. While they walk out the door with our hard earned profits. There is no red or blue here. There is only us.

I am a big fan of John Rich and his music. I like the video but it misses the point. "They" are not shutting Detroit down. Detroit is being shut down by the UAW (of which Kris' character was probably a member), the federal government and their ridiculous requirements for standards, by CARB, and by the fact that people will spend their money on a better product especially if they can get it cheaper. I am a Ford guy, i always buy Ford trucks, always have, and have never owned a foreign made car. But it is time for the union to release the stranglehold they have on the industry, for congress to let the manufacturers build cars and trucks that people want, and let the market fix itself.

I moved from Michigan a few years ago. I could see that with what was going on in Washington and the state in Lansing --- the state has no future. I stayed through the hard times of the 1980's but I told my son we needed to leave as soon as he graduated college...that there was no future. All Michigan leaders can think of is RAISE TAXES...thanks Granholm! I told people that Obama would do for America what Granholm did for Michigan and HE and THE DEMS in Congress and the REPUBLICANS that "go along" are doing it!
This is a great video...unless you have been to Michigan lately you really don't see the dispair that is this state. I go back once a year and each year it is worse, it has gotten to the point that I loathe seeing what is happening! But I love my friends who are still there so I go.
I believe that those left in Michigan are giving up...there are only 4 Tea Parties planned in the state (none in Detroit) I hope that the turn out at the four get some attention....One is at the State Capital in Lansing on the 15th at noon,,,I hope that all will attend,,, I have friends driving from another town to attend.
I may have one move left --- and that would be to TEXAS if they stand up and tell Washington --- NO MORE!
THANKS JOHN!

Amazes me how this country has gone so far as to elect people with no idea what to do. They sit up there with all their power making decisions that are ignorant of what the actual problems are.
We have allowed the uneducated to vote, so when they vote based on false promises and fairy tales check out the result. CLOSE OUR BORDERS AND EDUCATE OUR YOUNG!!!
EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION!!! Our teachers are given more requirements and regulations but our system keeps turning out less educated students.
Everything needs to change including our ways of life. STOP buying what you don't have money for and expecting credit cards to bail you out, you'll only make it worse. When you do buy, buy American and buy it locally.
Sometimes we have to fail to know what we are doing wrong and we have to change it in order to make it work right. And us God fearing Americans need to stand up for what we believe in. If we continue to allow corruption things will do nothing but continue to worsen. Have compassion but don't allow yourselves to be fooled by illusions!

One of the things I love and respect most about my country is our strength. It matters not who wins office they will never steal our Pride. Although what has happened in Detroit, is despicable --right now it is a land mine of opportunity--the auto industry need not be the Corp execs. It is the workers that made Detroit what it was... the people within the plants that made the auto industry what it was; American Made. Maybe it is time we stop singing and talking about it and just take our Industry back... put it in its rightful place; in the hands of the people that made it what it really was. If these movie stars and musicians really want to make a difference, maybe they should put their Know-How and "people" together and start a new plant... take some of the O's Stimulus package and rebuilt Detroit with the true Auto industry power and knowledge--the workers... they can call it APA for American Pride Auto. (the first car made can be named the Finger (or fu--short for)) APA's by-lines can be called the Constitution. Where folks don't work with the Unions, they work for each other. . . the workers own APA. I mean Detroit is primed for such a take over... u can buy a duplex there for less than three grand... could probably get the city to donate the factory lease for a few years... Right now America is primed to buy from them because many of us hate seeing what is going on here... do you know how many backers a project like this would get?.. the real difference this could make? Screw GM, Ford, and the rest of them... buy APA!

Unions had their place in history. But now their purpose is about power in Washington and not helping their members. Free markets work for labor as well as business. American workers can vote with their feet for which employers they want to work for. If you aren't getting the pay and benefits you want, go to a company that does offer it. If that means learning a higher skill, than do so. Supply and demand for workers dictate pay and benefits. As far as wall street goes, the companies took too big of risks for short term gain. They should have been allowed to fail and open a business opportunity for another company that didn't or wouldn't make those mistakes. We need to let free markets work and not have government intervention. Freddie and Fannie are a perfect example of how well government intervention works. This crisis can't be blamed on capitalism, because capitalism wasn't involved.

Debbie in theory that works, but in reality the companies get workers killed. Unions have been the leaders in forcing employers to use safety measures. And this is America, i swear they are not going to be happy until we all work for Wal-Mart at minimum wage.

Why do you need the unions to protect the workers. Why can't the workers stand up for themselves. If it's not safe, don't work there. This is still a free country(for now) and noone tells you what job to take. As an individual you make the choice. If noone will work for a company that's not safe, then the company will make it safe. You don't need to pay union dues to make that happen. You make a "free" choice of where to work. Let's give more credit to the American people. We don't need others to take care of us, we can take care of ourselves.
