Italians Say MTV Smears Them
FAIRFIELD — A national Italian-American organization based in New Jersey says an MTV reality show that depicts Italian-American beachgoers as the "hottest, tannest, craziest Guidos" is offensive and should be scrapped before it airs.
UNICO National said today that "Jersey Shore" relies on crude stereotypes and highlights cursing, bad behavior and violence in depicting renters at a New Jersey beach house.

From what I get by scanning through MTV and its various offspring is an insult to anything and everything. It is done for shock value and attention getting ratings. As for being insulted, these are kids who are pretending they are real and trying to present an image of what they think people want to see and hear. If I'm not mistaken, since I haven't had the desire to watch, most of the show is over endowed females, physically fit adonis(?) and they only know foul language, sex and have nothing else going in the area between the ears. This is not an insult just to the Italians but and insult to all who watch this over acted(?) BS.

Why is it that nearly everything on the more liberal media stations are out to target certain groups; whether it is based on ethnicity or beliefs? ig; Sarah Palin is beaten up by the left for one main reason; she is a Christian and she stands by her beliefs. And what does that teach all of the young people who watch that station? We are not all meant to be exactly the same on this earth, and making fun of others/attacking others is not the American way. I find it amazing how the ACLU will protect only certain liberal groups and will never take a stand for all Americans.

I live in Utah but visited this past summer and whlie walking on Point Pleasnants Beach Boardwalk, the fixed ring toss and baloon dart booths were pushing the O-BOW-MAU dolls out to all the sheeple like water. This is honestly one of the things that is destroying this country, I understand these are young kids but, the morals are shot! And when you turn it into reality TV kids are going to follow or try to duplicate that in their own life!

actually, there are a lot of kids just like this who have morals. typically, girls who are from jersey were raised to have strict morals, listen to their parents and have a good education. sure, they go out and have fun and get a little freaky, but they still expect to be treated right, just as they treat people. and there are going to be a few bad apples in the mix, too... but dont judge them based on their worst specimen.
Don't overlook MTV's pogrom against midgets, either - especially hybrid Italian dwarfs.
