U.S. Stalin Memorial Plan Under Fire
The Polish community in the United States is outraged by a plan to honour Josef Stalin by placing his bust on a pedestal at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia.
According to William McIntosh, the director of the Bradford museum, which is coordinating the project, the Soviet dictator deserves to be acknowledged alongside Winston Churchill and Franklin Delano Roosevelt has he was an ally of the US after Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union

After reading the post link by Panmac- you can see that bust is not suggested to be for soley 'honoring him" It points more to the relevance of Russias involvment in defeating the Nazisand the tenantive alliance we had with him.
The plaque states gruesome facts about his ruling of Russia.
It is a part of history . Again - I hated the idea at first also.

I was instantly outraged over this story, so I contacted the Memorial to express my opinions. They sent me a link to their newsletter describing the project, and I must say, I calmed down and now understand what they are doing. I have learned that, although I am a loyal fan of Fox Nation, I should always fact check their stories to make sure they are accurate.
This is a true story of a Stalin bust being added to the memorial, but for the rest of the story please read the newsletter and then determine if outrage is still justified. For some it may be, but for me I can see what they are doing and I actually agree with their presentation of the monster Stalin.

The Memorial is nearly bankrupt as it is and there is a bill (Rep Mark Warner) to have the Park Service take it over.
