What Does Home Depot Have Against 'One Nation Under God'?

WPTV: Last month, when Trevor Keezer started bringing his Bible to work, Keezer says his manager confronted him about the ["One nation under God, indivisible."] button. "That's when I was told it had to come off, or I would be sent home. So they sent me home for six straight days without pay. And then today they terminated me." Read more ...

Mr. Keezer should be applauded. Reading the Bible while at lunch (on his own time) is a cause for discipline?? One Nation Under God, INDIVISIBLE apparently conflicts with their buisness philosophy. Maybe they should consider and exception to whatever company guideline conflicts with patriotism. As a military retiree and Christian, I will no longer impose on them to take my money (bearing "In God We Trust" printed on said money) and will take my business to Lowe's or Menards until they apologize publicly. Too bad for them as I spend thousands every year on home improvement projects.

This is the crux of what's wrong with America. Progressive humanists have saturated the thoughts and attitudes with the progressive humanist's version of tolerance.
These progressive thinkers are tolerant to everything but the core principals that made the country great. They cannot tolerate God, free trade, and the thought that each person is responsible to make their own way. (providing that they are capable of doing so, if not neighbors pitched in to make sure they were ok and that their needs were met)
NOW - anything that is actually has value, virtue and would build up the Country is politically incorrect. The younger you are the less you actually know about how things really are - but this young man has values and direction. He gives hope to the future.

THat is BS he wore that button for more than a year before one word was said to him about the button. But when he started bringing his bible to work that is when there was problems about the button. It is not about the button. If it were they would have offered him an alternative button from the beginning. Wake up and see all the facts.

I agree that companies should be able to have a dress code. I think that it is insane to to think that the consumer does not have a right and an obligation to do just what you said if they don't like the stand that the company has made.
It's not that they don't have the right they do. It's just that now I have the right to say I don't want to support a company that does not support God and Country they way I do.
Let the free markets rule and let the consumer decide!

This country has become too politcally correct. You can't do this or wear that. I do not like it but I understand it. When you choose a job where you will be interacting with the public, you have to be neutral and not take a stance on anything publicly. The reason is you will offend some and others will love you for it. The moral of the story is read your employee handbook and know the rules. It does not make you more or less of a christian because you wear a pin or carry a bible. Home Depot is just trying to sell hardware.

This young mans rights were taken from him and we should not let this go lightly. I put together a petition. Please read it and help support our freedom of speech. Lets put a dent in Home Depots pocket :) God Bless You all!! http://www.petitiononline.com/hdepot/petition.html

Tony P. (VA. Patriot - Oath Keeper)

Company policy is company policy. I don't like the fact that a person can't wear a patriotic pin to work on his smock, but he was told by home depot to take it off. Perhaps Home Depot needs to change its policy just a bit, but rules are rules and he broke them. Doesn't get any more simple than that. If you have a problem with a companies policy, try to have it changed or go work somewhere else.

Tony, they let him wear the pin for 1 1/2 years without having a problem with it. His supervisor liked the pin so much, she asked him if she could wear it. It was only after he started bringing his bible to work that they had a problem. This is not simply Home Depot enforcing company policy. It's another attack on Christianity.

Home Depot is one of the worst companies to work for.!! I worked for them in 2001 for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks, I have had enough of they're bullying. Then they never gave me my paycheck. Fine, I went on to work elsewhere, but then they sent me a W-4 form to pay taxes on the money they never gave me. Ok, I paid the taxes because I didn't want to fight the IRS. The next year, Home Depot, sent me my check for the 3 weeks I worked in the previous year, and then another W-4 to pay taxes on money I never received in the first place twice. I sent them their check back and told them they can stick it where the sun doesn't shine. Then I received a letter for a lawyer, representing the former employees in a class action lawsuit against Home Depot, for not paying the employees their money from such in such date to such in date.
Anyways, you know what I think of Home Depot.... @%*^(&^%(%^*.....
