Thousands March at D.C. Tea Party ... Did the Media Ignore?
The Tea Party Express -- a gathering of activists protesting what they view as out-of-control spending by an expanding federal government -- has arrived in the nation's capital Saturday.
Tens of thousands of people marched to the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, carrying signs with slogans such as "Obamacare makes me sick."
The line of protesters completely filled Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. People were chanting "enough, enough" and "We the People." Others yelled "You lie, you lie!" and "Pelosi has to go," referring to California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. Read more ...

Supporters of Saturday’s “tea party” protests against President Barack Obama were quick to highlight their big turnout. To bolster countless claims on blogs and Facebook, many posted a photograph that showed a gargantuan crowd sprawling from Capitol Hill down the National Mall to the Washington Monument.
But it turns out the photo is more than 10 years old, apparently taken during a 1997 Promise Keepers rally.

Tens of thousands doesn't describe what I saw at the 9/12 march on DC. There were at least a million people there! My husband and I martched from Freedom Plaza to the capital and stopped at a Starbucks and a Kinkos for restroom breaks on the way. Then we sat on benches to rest for about 15 minutes before we joined the march again. There were people as far as you could see. When we reached the capital we tried for an hour to make our way up to the speakers so we could see them. But it was just too crowded and we finally found a spot where we could hear the speakers well enough and stayed there. This was probably the largest rally ever held in DC. I don't care what the media says, we ROCKED DC!!!!! And we were peaceful and respectful to everyone. There were a few signs that I wouldn't have carried but none were as offensive as many I have seen carried at anti Bush rallies.

We are a group of people that are mad about the road that this country is on. We are not doing this because the president is black or anything like that. Eddie - you obviously missed my earlier post. You also forget that the previous administration was taking severe heat from the ultra-left. It is hard to see what is happening behind your back when the issues are not being presented. Oh, by the way the first Tea Party was during the last year of the previous administration. The previous administration acknowledged the protests (acknowledge, not do much more than that). This administration not only outright ignores, but calls them names. The previous administration quelled protests by acknowledging them. This administration is firing the protests up by attempting to shove them into a corner. Anyone can tell you that Americans do not back into corners well.
