Obama's Lack of Business Sense
Some baffling comments by President Obama in today's press conference.
Asked how how and why small business loans would help small business, President Obama replied:
"If [small businesses] can get the bank loans to boost their payroll... they will do so." He further claimed that in his "travels" he has spoken with small business owners nationwide, and they see optimism and new customers.
I'm curious where these travels took him? A land inhabited with a fairy, children, and a flying boy in a green suit?
Unfortunately, a Presidential decree that small businesses are ready to hire, even from this President, does not make it so. In truth, small businesses are not excited about their 2010 prospects. They need to be. As a Wall Street Journal economic report states, small businesses are stymied:
"Optimism has clearly stalled in spite of the improvements in the economy in the second half of 2009," said William Dunkelberg, chief economist for the lobbying organization. "Small-business owners entered 2010 the same way they left 2009 -- depressed."
Yet, our President advocates taking loans for the purpose of boosting payroll -- in the middle of an economic draught. It just makes no sense. Unnecessary risk is not what strengthens and repairs the backbone of our economy -- small business.
Going into debt for the purpose of maintaining payrolls you cannot afford is not how capitalism works. It's not how industries recover.
It was how the Soviet Union worked, however -- before it imploded.

If I ran my business the way Barry's running the country, I'd be bankrupt by now. Si I should run out, take out a loan to increase my payroll with a diminished customer demand. Yeah, that's it, why didn't I see it sooner.

I called him an 'empty suit' a year before he was elected and i am STILL appalled at his level of economic ignorance.

I have an internal medicine friend who you would think is very smart but I swear the things he does and the opinions he voices come across as very stupid. I think that's what Obama is like. It certainly explains how he can make so many stupid mistakes.

About a year ago, when the stock market was crashing, I heard Obama urging people to buy stocks because the "profit to earnings ratios looked good." Since profit and earnings are the same thing, there is no profit to earnings ratio. This told me everything I needed to know about Obama's knowledge of the economy, stock market and running a business.

No business owner is going to borrow money to hire people he does not need. That is a recipe for disaster.

ThisPresident has access to some of the best business minds in the nation but he is a moron or maybe just a vegetable! If you are borrowing money to meet payroll like the Federal Government bankruptcy is not far behind and the banks will call your loan or refuse to loan you money! If you cannot sell what you make or buy then you do not need workers! The Joker in Batman Movies was criminally insane and I am beginning to think that Obama is not just inept but insane!
