WASHINGTON - As the region braces for another major storm, one local government is having trouble keeping their plows on the roads, WTOP has learned.
As many as 60 of the District's snow plows are not working -- bad news for thousands of residents still waiting for their streets to be cleared.
According to an internal email obtained by WTOP, 25 percent of the District's snow plow fleet is down and they're having trouble getting replacement parts.
D.C. is also now rationing their salt supply.

BEING GRATE AMERICANS, BARNEY N LINDSAY, HAVE VOLUNTEERED TO BECOME SNOW BLOWERS

25% of plows out of commission and 90% of DC out of touch.

Dear God, this is bound to give Chris Matthews a "meltdown"! But isn't just about everything in DC "out of commission", with no hopes of getting replacement parts until 2010 and 2012!

Here's the thing... Do the operators know how to plow with the 75% that DO work? DC has no clue what to do with 6 inches of snow, let alone 2-4 feet of it. Maybe they need to visit Syracuse or Buffalo for a how to plow correctly lesson and then 25% of the plows won't be broken.

Surprise, surprise. Nothing has changed since I left the east coast ten years ago! lol!
THE TOMB
Hey, here is a news bulletin neither do 25% of all Government Employees at all levels! Also, because the snow plows don't work I suppose their drivers are getting paid anyway!
Joe
Maybe the city needs more of stimulus to fix/buy snowplows. Shuting down DC for a couple days is the best thing for our country--it limits further damage out elected clowns can do.

So how is that shovel ready project being dumped on you working out?
mrsmcnutty
How about 25% of the operating rooms and 25% of the x-ray machines, and 25% of life support setups are broken???? Government run anything!
PeoriaGuy
Well hell, give them some of Palosi's traveling $$$$$ and lets get them fired up!

What a shocker. The part of the nation with the most illiterate folks around.

The mechanics in D.C. must be as inept as the politicians !

One must remember that this is the city that reelected Marion Barry.

Must not be a large amount of dependable mechanics around there! Or dependable anything around there! What's going on??????????????

I bet it's more than 25%. With all the wear and tear that the snow removal equipment have been experiencing here in DC, all local municipalities are feeling the stress.
NotsoSilent
Well Hell at least 25 percent of congress is not functioning and is in need of replacement too....and we are not having as much trouble getting replacements...
The way Washington is working these days the employees probably sold stuff off the truck to buy drugs and Obama t-shirts
