The point of this discussion is the 'falsification' of research data in order to achieve a political agenda.

gt - I'm an engineer and scientist. You're right about the many influencing factors. The issue is that there are some who are "believers" in climate change who latch onto only thse factors that support their belief and ignore all others. THAT'S NOT SCIENCE...THAT'S CORRUPTION OF THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD. Many want climate change to be a fact because is a lever to transfer wealth and increase government control. I'll bet there's not one CC advocate in Congress who has sought tol investigate the facts and come to an informed position. And listening to Al Gore isn't serious investigation!

There very certainly are "believers", and just as surely there are "deniers". I don't listen to Al Gore and think he is overrated (especially as "the villain").
I also think this cap-and-trade thing (a policy) is not a very good idea. This is the kind of thing that Wall street insiders are going to manipulate to make a lot of money while not doing anything.
I don't like corrupted science, or attacking the credibility of science for political purposes. That is what the far right has been doing, and is what the issue is.

Just (finally) finished reading some of the "information" that was pointed to much earlier on this forum. As well, you have to read the opposing side.
This "Senate Minority Report" is very aptly named, and Inhofe can equally be accused of perpetrating a big hoax.
I would assign more credibility to the right-wing view if they did not so obviously take quotes out of context or conveniently leave out crucial information in order to make their point.

It continually baffles me that the temperatures have declined over the last 10 years while the carbon emissions have increased over the same time period.
How can anyone with half a brain NOT question this theory. And that is all it is, is theory.
More baffling is that our very own House of Representatives and President of the United States are willing to put enormous financial burden on WE THE PEOPLE in the name of a failing theory! The goal is not clean environment, it can't be. The goal, in my opinion is redistribution of global wealth. It's bad enough we have made our own country one that encourages laziness by heavily promoting entitlement programs, now we want to redistribute our wealth globally???? How very sad.
