Pelosicare Tax Rates Not Indexed for Inflation

The typical family would be spared higher taxes from the House Democratic plan to overhaul health care, and their low-income neighbors could come out ahead. Their wealthy counterparts, however, face big tax increases that could eventually hit future generations of taxpayers who are less wealthy.

The bill is funded largely from a 5.4 percent tax on individuals making more than $500,000 a year and couples making more than $1 million, starting in 2011. The tax increase would hit only 0.3 percent of tax filers, raising $460.5 billion over the next 10 years, according to congressional estimates.

But unlike other income tax rates, the new tax would not be indexed for inflation. As incomes rise over time because of inflation, more families -- and more small business owners -- would be hit by the tax.

also this doesn't count all the new cap and trade taxes on everything-
what is the most ill at this time is the economy-why has health care taken
precedence over the economy? and if it doesn't take effect until 2011,why the hustle to get it done immediately-very fishy-

BOB from the old school

Is there anyone who is not listed as a homeless person that believes that any of this money collected will actually ever be used for healthcare? RIGHT ! like SS is for old age, school taxes are for schools, gasoline taxes are for highway repair. LOL . 50% of all taxes are wasted on bureaucy then 25% on fraud, and whats left is used to pay the interest on the money borrowed last year to do nothing

If you liked flushing your toilet 3 to 4 times everytime you used it after the GOVERENMENT mandated a public option water limited toilet design then you will love the health care public option. Maybe you can have heart surgery 3 to 4 times before they fix your heart, unless of course your not around that long.
